That said, if you can afford it, the Special does offer a lot. It might not be for everyone, but it certainly appeals to many riders.

I wonder how a bike’s resale value is affected by these features? Do the upgrades hold up when it comes time to sell?

In my experience, features do help with resale, but it depends on the market. Some buyers seek the upgraded models, while others stick to basics.
