With my experience, I have continuously surveyed and experienced the features of many tire lines on the market.

And models with a complete finish are always my top buying priority. And the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus is a similar model I used.

I define and evaluate the product through design, grip, quietness, and warranty. For design, the DWS06 Plus is built with good looks, simplicity, and premium materials to deliver consistent performance for all seasons.

The traction tests captivated me by their performance on dry surfaces. It’s stable and well-balanced for my high-speed processing. Even though I repeatedly braked and steered, it still made sure to respond well to my navigation.

Its quietness is an excellent experience for me. During more than 20 miles of highway, I did not notice any shrill noise from the tires. It’s also incredibly smooth and comfortable, making each ride more engaging.

Unfortunately, its wet performance is not up to my expectations. It works without accuracy and loses inherent stability. On the slopes on rainy days, its braking distance is significantly greater.

Pros

  • No shrill noises
  • Comfortable and smooth
  • Unique and impressive design
  • Excellent dry performance
  • The most perfect overall

Cons

  • Poor wet performance

Michelin is the leading tire manufacturer in the world today. Each product has a distinct design and features to meet different requirements. And the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 is a prime example.

This tire model has an intelligent asymmetrical tread system for an impressive wet and dry gripping performance. In wet and rainy weather, I tested its grip and traction. Its movement is cautious to help my car move smoothly and smoothly.

Dry road performance is the most outstanding advantage of this tire model.

Regardless of the road, Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 ensures perfect traction and precise and stable speed handling. This one even responded well to my sharp turns.

In ice and snow, it always retains its original strength. The model bites firmly to the surface and moves smoothly when walking on ice. Although it is not as impressive as other specialized tires, what it shows is acceptable to me.

What I regret most about this tire is the noise. The jarring acceleration friction affects my driving quite a lot. I’ve driven this tire for over 15 miles on the highway at medium speed, but unfortunately, it still annoys me.

Pros

  • Excellent wet and dry grip
  • Sensitive tires and gentle steering
  • Good acceleration and braking on light snow
  • Short stopping distances on wet surfaces
  • Awesome warranty for the whole season

Cons

  • Loud noises

Rarely do I choose and evaluate the design details of any tire model because my opinion on it is not so important. However, when I test-drove the Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS+, I had to change my prejudices completely.

This model comes with the most sound design I have ever experienced. It features subtle deep grooves and a superior symmetrical tread system for an appealing overall look. So what does this design mean for the tire’s performance?

It is as strong as specialized products on the market on wet surfaces. This version offers adequate traction and impressive water resistance with a versatile construction and a new generation of tire compounds.

With the actual test on the road, I am incredibly excited about its performance. Its excellence and definiteness have earned me many solid rain rides.

Continuing to evaluate its snow performance, what I got is still entirely satisfactory. Despite heavy lateral traction, it remains flexible with excellent traction for smooth passing in the snow.

For me, tire comfort is a particular aspect that I cannot ignore. I tested this feature for over 60 miles on the highway. Surprisingly, it not only creates comfort but also helps to minimize the jarring noise.

Its durability is the last advantage I want to mention. It can last for many years to meet your usage requirements well.

Pros

  • Stable design
  • Rapid response
  • High sustainability
  • Impressive wet performance
  • Suitable for light snow surface

Cons

  • Not suitable for driving on the heavy snow surface

Continental PureContact LS

Valid to November 30, 2022

It sucks to travel on poor quality, noisy and uncomfortable tires. It is the leading factor affecting the driving experience and safety. And Continental PureContact LS is the perfect idea for you.

The many built-in modern technologies allow it to minimize the environmental impact on your comfort.

I tested the tires on 60 miles highway and 20 miles off-road. And the end result really surprised me. It doesn’t make any shrill noises but is always quiet at a certain level. My dear children could take a nap and enjoy their smooth journey.

I was blown away by the product’s dry performance. It’s more powerful, precise, and definitive than any in-class product I’ve tried.

It moves smoothly on urban and bumpy roads with a unique texture. Its premium tire compound contributes to complete product traction. Accordingly, each trip on your dry surface is more worthwhile and safer.

Wet terrain was my big challenge for the Continental PureContact LS. Fortunately, this tire model still offers excellent traction and efficient handling. It can easily control the sliding speed to make your every ride safer.

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Good cornering
  • Perfect wet traction
  • Excellent dry performance
  • Stable and precise speed processing

Cons

  • Not suitable on thick ice

Valid through December 9, 2022

With an average budget, it’s hard for me to find a stable snow and ice tire model. Fortunately, I found Michelin CrossClimate2, which performs many specialized winter features.

To conduct this test, I had to move more than 60 miles to the location of friends with a dense snow surface. And its performance surprised me. This tire still passes smoothly on thin or thick snow and is unaffected by snow traction.

Unlike other tires on the market, the Michelin CrossClimate2 provides horizontal traction by directly contacting the road surface. So, its traction efficiency and precise handling are also significantly increased.

For this feature, I choose the experience right on the familiar highway. It offered a novel and balanced steering feel for navigation and safety.

What I am most bored with this tire model is the warranty. The manufacturer only offers a warranty period many times shorter than other competitors.

Pros

  • Best to go in the snow
  • Easy to drive in rainy conditions
  • Good speed and brake handling
  • Good traction in dry and wet conditions

Cons

  • Warranty is shorter than other competitors

Tire life directly impacts the quality and overall performance of the product.

For safe rides, you should consider buying long-life versions. I found and tested the Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady. This version is designed specifically for professional riders who demand sustainable product ownership.

Indeed, even though it has been 3 years, the tires I use have always ensured stability and balance in all aspects. Although the small tire is worn, I do not take it too seriously. What I see are durability and reliable performance.

On dry runways, is Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady any good? Right from the get-go, the tire feels responsive and good to navigate with the steering wheel.

The movement of the tires is light and smooth, making me feel like I’m walking on standard road surfaces.

When testing wet and slippery roads, I was surprised at how wrong the product was. It’s far from what I imagined. The waterproofing seems okay, but the traction is not good. It is easy to misdirect the movement and put you in danger.

Luckily, this model is great on snowy roads. Although it cannot replace other professional tire models, it is still a perfect fit for perfect snow driving. I enjoy this feature. It’s different from other similar products I’ve used.

Pros

  • Long lifespan
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Very responsive in all weather
  • Good traction and braking on ice
  • Safe and reliable handling on dry pavement

Cons

  • Wet road treatment isn’t perfect for all seasons

This Bridgestone Blizzak WS90 has combined a directional spike pattern with increased block stiffness for improved steering response and linearity.

After two months of practical experience, I appreciate the tire’s handling and driving feel. It provides fast feedback, which is better than products I’ve used.

More remarkable in this tire model is the impressive dry performance. Winter tires often sacrifice dry grip for perfect snow grip. Fortunately, that’s not the case with the Bridgestone Blizzak WS90. Thanks to an innovative tire compound with a larger tire area, the tire performs exceptionally well on dry roads.

I dedicated a month to the highway and street trips to test it. The effect of these two terrains is the same to give me safe rides. It supports precise short braking and impressive cornering, making each special individual handling more stable.

Though not really impressive, the wet grip of this tire model has improved somewhat compared to previous versions. I have moved the tire on wet surfaces and in water. As a result, traction performance on lightly wet surfaces is better than in water. It guarantees the value of your navigation as well as your steering.

This model also has impressive water resistance on wet roads for days.

When it comes to ice performance, this tire is the perfect example for you. I was utterly convinced after driving it through the winter.

Its braking performance and handling remain highly precise in these conditions.

Pros

  • Best for handling and driving feel
  • Outstanding braking on dry roads
  • Impressive snow and ice performance
  • Go smoothly through the big potholes

Cons

  • Not include a footwear warranty

General Altimax Arctic 12

General AltiMAX Arctic 12

Prolonged snow and ice can be significant obstacles to your movement. But with General Altimax Arctic 12, you can eliminate most of your worries. This model is for inclement weather, with a smooth and safe ride.

Its distinctive ridge design and profiled tread compound help increase its resistance to extreme weather. Accordingly, it is harder to freeze on long-term thick snow and ice. I was utterly captivated by this feature.

Despite leaving the car for many days in the winter, it always ensures highly flexible operation with impressive handling and braking.

The General Altimax Arctic 12’s wet and dry performance is my typical strength.

I tested two features simultaneously by traveling through two different wet and dry roads. They both provide valuable traction for a safe and efficient ride.

On the other hand, when it comes to the quietness of the tires, I am highly disappointed. This tire is not as smooth as I imagined.

It’s noisy and annoying, which distracts my steering on long rides. I do not recommend that inexperienced people use this tire model.

Pros

  • Impressive design
  • Available on light snow
  • Premium tire compound
  • Best for inclement weather
  • Impressive wet and dry performance

Cons

  • Not suitable for beginners

Continental ExtremeContact Sport

The stable performance of this tire model is most remarkable. It always proved solid and balanced on many different surfaces to prepare for long trips. Its ability to move on dry is the advantage that attracted me.

Traveling a combination of 20 miles on the street and 30 miles on the highway, I have experienced many ups and downs with Continental ExtremeContact Sport

Braking or cornering is not too big of a problem for this super product. On the highway, the tire’s grip is better with efficient and precise handling.

To increase the difficulty of the test, I took advantage of the bumpy road behind the house to test the tire quality. The results surprised me. Although it is just a mid-range tire, its performance on the terrain is highly commendable. It gently overcomes obstacles with a stable grip to keep the vehicle well-balanced.

Many users do not highly appreciate the product’s ability to operate on wet roads. But that’s just sentimental judgment and has no practical value.

I decided to look for evidence on the most waterlogged roads to change my mind. Its performance on wet roads is not inferior to that on dry surfaces. The handling effect is also stable and relatively balanced for your safe ride.

By intuition and personal testing, I think the Continental ExtremeContact Sport is not a good tire for traveling in snow and ice conditions.

It was hard to move on light snow, and took a long time to get through. I continued to use the dense snow surface to test, and I was disappointed.

Pros

  • No shrill noises
  • The most stable operation
  • Impressive wet and dry grip
  • It is acceptable to walk on terrain
  • Good value for money

Cons

  • Poor performance on snow and ice

Off-road for me is a great pleasure to test my handling ability and improve my driving skills. To realize my dream, I chose the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500.

I have never been disappointed with the off-road capability of this product.

On the hilly road behind the house, it is always stable and difficult to be shaken by external forces. While this tire is not perfect, it’s excellent for those requiring mid-range tires and still has off-road capabilities.

With the affordable price, I don’t expect too many miracles in this tire. After making many test trips, I was shocked at the product’s performance on dry surfaces. It offers impressive traction and responsive handling.

However, the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 is not for the big snow roads. Its activity will stop immediately after approaching the snow. I tested on light and thick snow, which are not strong points of the product.

To add pressure, I decided to drive it on a flooded road. Surprisingly, its waterproofing is perfect. After many hours of operation, I almost did not detect any water droplets inside the rim.

Regarding durability, the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 has always been the best for me. This tire has remained fresh for more than a year and guaranteed good performance on my favorite road.

Pros

  • Reliability
  • Value of money
  • Best for off-road driving
  • Perfect dry performance
  • Effective water resistance

Cons

  • Not suitable for significant snow and ice roads

Things to consider when choosing tires for Subaru Impreza

Things to consider when choosing tires for Subaru Impreza

Touring tires

Touring tires are a good idea for your Subaru Impreza. With their distinctive design, these tires ensure comfort and stability for long highway trips.

I also appreciate its moving performance. While it’s not very responsive, it’s still good enough for a driver like me.

The touring tire model can also accelerate with impressive traction on any surface. In terms of price, the cost of travel tires is much lower than other tire models on the market today.

Overall, I find travel tires and great options for your vehicle. While it’s not high-end, it’s stable for your basic usage requirements.

Grand-touring tires

Grand-touring is an upgraded version of touring tires to serve specialized travel requirements. This tire model is especially suitable for powerful models such as the Subaru Impreza to increase driving performance.

With grand-touring tires, there is reasonable, balanced speed handling and higher grip than the regular version.

Personally, after directly moving on the tire, I was entirely convinced by its performance. It brings the car into corners and brakes exceptionally smooth without strong vibrations and distracting the driver.

I included grand touring in my guide because of its great comfort and durability.

It still ensures a smooth, quiet ride for you for a long time, like regular travel tires. As mentioned, durability is not concerned with grand-touring models, although it comes with a less wear-and-tear warranty.

High performance tires

If you want to push the Subaru Impreza to the top, installing high-performance tires is the way to go. These tires are particular to give you more responsive, stable speed handling than conventional products.

High-performance tires provide stable traction that responds quickly to the vehicle’s driver’s navigation.

I tested this tire model on two distinct wet and dry surfaces to demonstrate the product’s practicality. With a dry surface, the tire performs well, smoothly, and quietly. Meanwhile, on wet surfaces, it’s pretty sluggish for each movement. Wet road performance is therefore also greatly affected.

The comfort of a high-performance tire is not as good as a passenger tire, but it is still perfectly acceptable. The product’s price is relatively high, so you should consider it carefully before making the final decision!

FAQs

Through experience and survey, I received quite a few questions regarding the Subaru Impreza and its tires. Here are some full explanations for some of the ones I come across most often.

How much are Subaru Impreza tires?

Subaru Impreza tires have an average price range of about $70-$250, depending on the type and size of tire you choose.
When buying tires for a Subaru Impreza, you need to consider their grip, comfort, quietness, and warranty. Prioritize buying products that can fully meet the above requirements.

What size do tires fit a Subaru Impreza?

I always prefer to choose tire models with sizes: P205 / 55VR16, P205 / 50VR17, and P225/40VR18. They are more suitable for the 2020 Subaru Impreza model.

Can you put 17-inch rims on a Subaru Impreza?

Entirely possible. Subaru Impreza tires usually come with different wheel sizes. For example, 16-inch, 17-inch, or 18-inch rims.

The answer is No. You cannot mount WPX on your Subaru Impreza vehicle because its size does not match the wheel frame.

Do all Subaru wheels fit each other?

No. Only specific tire models of similar sizes will fit and work on your vehicle.

Conclusion

Through objective reviews of the top 10 best tires for Subaru Impreza, I have helped you understand the characteristics of each to choose the suitable tire.
