An Overview Of Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+

As the name suggests, Yokohama developed the Advan Sport series for sports cars and coupes that demand the highest performance and driving confidence.

However, the Advan  Sport A/S+ is also a good choice for regular driving.

Highlight Features

Besides the high-end grip and traction, Advan  Sport A/S+ can fit well into any luxurious sedan with its optimal comfort, durability, and improved tread life. The tire gives its full potential on wet and dry city roads.

Even in harsh weather conditions like snow, heavy rain, or windy weather, the Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+ still brings a stable and smooth ride. For this reason, this tire always stands out among the premium all-season product lines.

The noise comfort of the Advan Sport A/S+ cannot be underrated with the specifically constructed wavy sipes, tread variation, and z grooves. The handling is also superior and easy to maneuver with a precise response.

As a high-end all-season tire, Advan Sport A/S+ possesses an excellent tread life accompanied by a reliable warranty policy from the manufacturer. It gives you utter confidence and peace of mind to challenge every location.

Design

Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+ has an overall diameter of 24,9 inches with only 21.8 in weight, giving it a pretty compact size. The tire looks very modern and classy with a beautiful groove and treads construction.

This design makes Advan Sport A/S+ a perfect match for modern and high-end sporting vehicles or civilian cars. Both drivers who own a powerful racing car or a classy sedan will love this classy tire.

Technology And Construction

There are extra shoulder blocks on the tires that help improve grip and traction for better handling at high speed. The sidewall construction is optimized for a crisp and responsive steering experience.

As a premium all-season tire, Advan Sport A/S+ cannot lack the high-performance H2-S compound made of high-end silica and polymers. These materials bring excellent traction when driving on wet and slippery surfaces.

Another noticeable trait of this tire lies in its wavy sipes and z-shaped grooves.

This unique construction provides better traction and biting edges that feel extra smooth on rough terrains.

The four-pitch variation also minimizes the noise generated when driving at high speed, providing a comfortable and quiet ride.

Last but not least, the contour profile has been made flatter to evenly distribute the pressure put on the tire. Combined with the H2-S tread compound, this feature gives the tire more resilience and increases its tread life significantly.

Yes, there are many high-quality all-season tires that can combine excellent traction, riding comfort, and reliable tread life. However, the Advan Sport A/S+ brings these features to the top of the tire besides its stunning appearance.

Warranty

Yokohama offers up to 55,000 miles (27,500 miles if there is a staggered fitment) in treadwear warranty. In addition, the brand also supports a 30-day trial policy to help users make the most content buying decision.

You are allowed to purchase the tire only when it gives you optimal satisfaction. It’s really hard to complain about the warranty policies Yokohama brings.

Test Drive

So, that’s every feature I can tell you about the Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+.

However, specs can never bring as much reliability as real-life performance to decide the value of one tire.

So, I decided to test out the Advan Sport A/S+ for a short period to bring you an unbiased view of its performance and quality. Now let’s see what I have to offer.

Dry Traction

The performance of the Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+ on dry roads is very satisfying, with flawless traction. There is virtually no slipperiness or instability, even when I drive at more than 50 miles per hour.

As a result, the steering and handling feel very firm and responsive. I can make the fast cornering at high speed with ease and confidence. The extra-large blocks worked very well to add more stiffness to every curve I made.

The tire also brings you great reliability and comfort at lower speeds. Whether for racing or regular driving on dry terrains, Advan Sport A/S+ always exceeds your expectations.

Wet & Slippery Handling

It was the rainy season, and I had numerous chances to test out the Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+ on wet terrains. The tire still sticks to the road very well and doesn’t suffer from any slipperiness or reduction in traction.

As a result, the steering feels very crispy and reliable, but it’s not excellent enough for me to perform the fast cornering at high speeds. The braking distance is also excellent, thanks to the high-end H2-S silica compound.

In general, the Advan Sport A/S+ brings more than decent traction on wet terrains, which is a must-have quality of an all-terrain tire.

However, it needs much improvement to be as good as the dry traction.

Design & Performance

As I mentioned above, Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+ looks very classy and modern with its beautiful H2-S silica compound.

The extra-large shoulder blocks also add more stiffness to this high-quality tire.

The tire looks a perfect match for my sedan with a medium size. I think that it brings an even more beautiful appearance to the large sedans and sports cars.

I personally prefer a tire with medium size and compact appearance rather than beefy muddy tires. The Advan Sport A/S+ easily became my favorite with its medium weight and premium design.

However, speed lovers and sports car owners will also love this tire. It still gives you a feeling of power and premium performance that are so hard to explain.

Treadwear

Since I didn’t drive this tire long enough, it’s very hard to decide on its durability and tread life. However, I noticed that Advan Sport A/S+ could resist abrasion and scratches on rough terrains very well.

After driving under heavy rain or windy weather, the tire’s appearance stays intact with beautiful compound and color. The H2-S silica compound really did its magic to bring this optimal tire protection.

I can confidently assure you that the tire won’t wear down much, at least for under 1000 miles. If you just drive it around the city on nice terrains, don’t worry much about its tread life.

Off-road And Snow Performance

I didn’t expect an excellent performance on off-road terrains from Advan Sport A/S+ since it’s not designed specifically for this type of terrain. However, the stability and traction are not terrible either.

Advan Sport A/S+ still feels stiff and sticky on the snow or off-road surfaces. But it’s nowhere as smooth and reliable as the snow or mud tires. Therefore I would not recommend this tire for off-road driving.

Noise

Noise is another significant advantage of Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+. There is virtually no to little noise heard from the cabin, even when I was driving on wet terrain.

At higher speeds, the tire still maintains a comfortable noise level, allowing me to enjoy my favorite soundtrack and chat with my friends on the road.

Is The Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+ Worth Your Money?

I have nothing to complain about Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+.

It gives you excellent traction on dry terrains and decent performance on wet surfaces. The tread life and durability are also at the top of the tire.

If you are looking for a quiet, smooth, and satisfying driving experience, go for the Advan Sport A/S+. The great warranty policy from Yokohama also convinces me more to purchase this premium tire.

Of course, Yokohama Advan Sport performs poorly on off-road terrains, but it’s understandable for an all-season tire.
