I think the 777 is more cost-effective if you’re just commuting. The 999 might shine on performance bikes, but for my cruiser, 777 is perfect.

When I considered both, I found the 999 priced about $30 more for a set. If it lasts longer, that might offset the initial cost.

I’ve been using the Shinko 777 for about a year now for my daily commute. They offer great grip and handle well in the rain. Highly recommend them!

I switched from the 777 to the 999 last summer. The 999s are definitely sportier but they wear out faster. Good for occasional weekend rides, though!

Yes! The 999s have much better cornering stability, especially at high speeds. I’ve used them for touring and found them quite reliable.

For touring, I stick with the 777s. They’ve got great longevity for long rides. But if you want that sport feel, the 999s can’t be beaten.
