Anyone else dealing with 'Reduced Propulsion Power' in their Chevy Volt?

That’s hilarious! But seriously, climate can definitely affect performance—it might be worth considering if it’s a recurring issue for others.

I’ve been experiencing ‘Reduced Propulsion Power’ for a while now. It usually happens when I’m driving in electric mode for too long. Anyone else noticing this?

For me, it happened after a long trip. I found that resetting the battery system helped temporarily, but it would eventually return. Have you tried that?

I encountered this issue too! After some research, I discovered that checking the battery connections was a good start. Corroded connections might be the culprit.

That’s insightful, Mary! I’ve also read that updating the software can sometimes resolve propulsion issues. It’s worth a check!

I’ve been troubleshooting this as well. I noticed cleaning the contact points on the battery can help improve performance. Just make sure to be careful!

Thanks for the tips! If cleaning and resets don’t work, when would you all recommend seeing a professional? Just worried it might be something serious.

If the problem persists after trying basic fixes, I’d recommend a pro check it out. Ignoring it could lead to more damage in the long run.

Honestly, I’ve just accepted that my Volt is a bit moody! I call it ‘Voltzilla’ now when it decides to act up. :joy: But on a serious note, I’ve noticed the issue is less frequent when the weather is warm.

Haha, love the nickname! But isn’t it odd how the weather makes such a difference? It makes me wonder if there’s an underlying issue related to temperature sensitivity.
