Looking for Advice on a 4-Inch Lift for My 2017 F150

Did it noticeably affect the ride on highways as well, or mostly off-road?

That’s a definite advantage—just make sure not to overdo it on the lift and lose practicality on daily drives.

You should also think about tire size if you’re lifting your F150! Bigger tires can help with traction in off-road situations, but they may require fender modifications.

Good point! What sizes are you considering? I know that larger tires can help a lot with off-road grip.

If only deep mud holes were my only obstacle! A lift will definitely help but I just don’t want to become a tipping supermodel on wheels.

Haha, that’s a great way to put it! Just remember that proper shock choice is key here.

When lifting your F150, going with 33-inch tires is a popular choice. They provide a good balance of performance and aesthetics without major modifications. Just make sure your offset is around +18 to +20 for the best fit.

Totally agree! I went with 33s and my truck looks amazing! The stance is much better too.

I suggest checking out wheel brands that offer custom offsets. A +12 offset can give you that aggressive look while maintaining proper clearance with a lift.

What about going a bit wider? Any recommendations on tire widths?

If you want off-road performance, consider 33x12.5 tires. They provide better traction and stability off-road, especially with a 4-inch lift.

And remember, bigger tires might mean you need to re-gear your axles for optimum performance! It can affect your fuel economy otherwise.

That’s a great point! I’ve chatted with folks who regretted not doing it sooner.

Can anyone explain the difference in ride quality with larger tires? I’m curious if it’s worth it. My F150 is my daily driver!

It can be a bit stiffer, but many find the aesthetics and off-road capabilities to outweigh the difference!

Honestly, a 4-inch lift on an F150 looks great with 35s too, but keep in mind the potential for rubbing without proper offset adjustments!

35s might be pushing it unless you’re ready for mods! Plus, it’s like the ‘bigger the better’ mentality. Just be aware!

Overall, it’s about balancing looks with practicality. I like a rugged appearance but don’t want to compromise daily driveability.
