Oh come on! You have to give the stock shock some credit; it’s basically a pogo stick! Just kidding, it’s definitely worth exploring upgrades! The comfort improvement can be night and day.
I’ve had the same concern. It’s frustrating when repairs are not an option! Upgrading seems like the only way to go.
I’ve been looking into aftermarket shocks, but it seems like there are too many options! How do I even begin to choose the right one? What are some brands you all have had good experiences with?
Check out Elka and Wilbers. I’ve had friends swear by them for their durability and performance on long rides.
Installing a new shock can be a game-changer! Just be prepared for a learning curve if you’re doing it yourself; I almost ended up giving my bike a new angle! Haha.
Lol, I can relate! I learned the hard way too! But it’s so worth it once you get it right. Your KLR will thank you!
Sometimes I wonder if I’m too picky about my ride quality. How much can I really expect from a KLR to begin with? Would a new shock really make that big of a difference?
It’s all about expectations! A good shock will absolutely enhance your comfort and control, making those longer rides feel less taxing.
