Looking for Feedback on 22-inch Wheels for Yukon Denali
I’ve been considering upgrading my Yukon Denali’s wheels to 22-inch, but I’m torn on whether it’s the right move. I’ve seen mixed reviews, and I’m hoping to gather some insights from fellow enthusiasts.
Why 22s?
Aesthetic Appeal: I love the aggressive look that larger wheels bring. It seems to give the Denali a more upscale and sporty vibe.
Handling and Performance: Some say that bigger wheels improve handling, while others point out that they may negatively impact ride comfort. What has been your experience?
Concerns I Have:
Ride Comfort: I often use my Denali for long trips, and I don’t want to sacrifice comfort for style. Have any of you noticed a significant difference in ride quality with 22s?
Tire Options and Costs: I’m aware that tire prices can skyrocket with larger sizes. Is it difficult to find affordable, quality options for 22-inch tires?
Potential for Scraping: I live in an area with some rough roads. Do 22s face higher risks of curb rash or scraping?
Looking for Input
If you have a Yukon Denali with 22s, how has the experience been?
Have any of you switched from 22s to a different size? Why did you make that change?
Do you have specific brands or tire models you would recommend?
Would love to hear your thoughts and personal experiences!
Honestly, off-road performance is decent, but those 22s can make it feel a bit less stable on rugged terrain. It’s not a hardcore off-roader, but it’s okay for light trails.
[@kathleenpatton] I haven’t lowered mine, but I did swap out for a more aggressive tire design. It gives it more grip and improves the overall aesthetics.
