What Are Your Thoughts on the 2013 HD Street Glide?

I’ve been eyeing the 2013 HD Street Glide for a while now and thought it’d be great to gather some feedback from fellow riders. If own one or have experience with this model, I’d love to hear what you think!

Key Aspects to Discuss:

  • Specifications: What do you think of the engine performance? I’ve read that it has a great balance of power and comfort for both city rides and long trips.
  • Features: How do you like the infotainment system? I’ve seen mixed reviews, and I’m curious if it really enhances the riding experience.
  • Maintenance: Are there any common issues I should be aware of? It would be helpful to know what parts tend to wear out quickly and if there are any recommended maintenance tips.
  • Modifications: Have you made any custom modifications? I’m interested in hearing about popular upgrades that really enhance the bike.
  • Pricing: What should I expect to pay if I’m considering buying a used model? Any tips on finding good deals would also be appreciated!

Other Comparisons:

Also, how does it compare to newer models? If you’ve ridden later versions or similar tourers, I’d be interested to hear how they stack up.

Looking forward to hearing everyone’s experiences and insights!

I’ve got to say, the 2013 HD Street Glide is a fantastic tourer. The handling is exceptional for a bagger! I’ve taken mine on some long rides, and it feels stable in turns.

I totally agree! The low center of gravity really makes a difference, especially in tight corners. Have you made any mods for better handling?

For acceleration, I feel like it could use a bit more punch. I added a Stage 1 kit, and now it pulls much stronger. It makes a noticeable difference in everyday riding!

That’s interesting! I’ve been considering that upgrade. What else did you notice after adding it? Any impact on fuel efficiency?

The brakes are solid, but I did switch to braided brake lines to improve feel. It made a big difference, especially during heavy braking.

That’s a great idea! I haven’t thought about that. Do you think it makes a difference in daily riding or mainly during spirited rides?

Honestly, for highway cruising, I think it excels. It’s built for comfort rather than sport, which is perfect for long rides.

Absolutely! I take mine out west every summer. That comfortable ride keeps me going all day long without fatigue!

I’ve heard some say the Street Glide is a bit heavy, making it tough at low speeds. What do you all think? Is it really a workout?

It can be! In city traffic, I feel the weight sometimes. But once you get going, it handles nicely. A little practice goes a long way!

A little heavy? Let’s be real, it’s a big bike! Just plan your turns ahead, and you’ll be fine. Plus, the sound of the engine makes it all worth it! Ha!

I ride a 2013 HD Street Glide, and I can say the stock seat is decent, but it could use some padding for long rides. I added a gel pad which made a big difference.

That’s great to hear! I was considering aftermarket seats like the Saddlemen. Have you tried any others?

I haven’t tried the Saddlemen, but I’ve heard good things. The riding position is pretty relaxed, which helps on long trips. Just gotta watch out for wrist fatigue sometimes.

True! I’ve felt the same with wrist fatigue after a few hours. Do you think adding cruise control would help?

Definitely! Cruise control is a game changer on long rides. Less strain on the wrists and you can relax a bit more. I’ve upgraded mine and love it.

That sounds tempting! What about the back support? Is that an issue with the stock setup?

The back support is okay, but a lumbar support cushion really helps. It’s something you might want to consider for those all-day rides.

I’m surprised at how much just adding a cushion helps! Plus, there’s something about sitting upright on the Street Glide that feels satisfying on the open road.
