I can see that. I’ve used them with heavy loads, and they performed decently. However, I did notice some wear faster than expected on the edges.
I find my AT3s to be surprisingly durable on rocky terrain. I’ve tackled trails in my F-150 with minimal damage. I’d say I’ve got about 25,000 miles left in them before they need replacing.
Sounds promising! I do plan on some off-roading trips soon. Glad to know they handle well!
Just a heads up! I’ve seen some people have a tough time with road noise after a while. My AT3s started getting loud around the 30,000-mile mark. Anyone else experience that?
Haha, I thought it was just my F-150 getting older! What did you do to manage the noise?
I’ve had the Toyo Open Country AT3s on my F-150 for about 6 months now. The road noise is surprisingly low for an all-terrain tire, and they offer a comfy ride even on highway drives.
That’s great to hear! I’m considering these tires for my truck too. How do they handle off-road? Any noticeable bumps?
The ride comfort is definitely solid on most terrains. I’ve taken them off-roading quite a bit, and they perform well without jarring me too much.
Sounds promising! What about the noise level when you go off-road? Does it get louder?
I’ve noticed a slight increase in noise off-road, but it’s not terrible. For me, the traction and control outweigh the noise.
That’s a fair trade-off! How’s the wear and tear after some serious off-roading?
So far, the wear is minimal! I’ve taken these through mud and rocks, and they still look good. Overall, they are holding up wonderfully.
Awesome! It’s comforting to hear. I think I’ll make the switch soon.
Can we talk about comfort for a second? I’ve heard mixed reviews on ride comfort over long distances. Might be an issue for road trips.
I took a 4-hour trip with these tires, and they were comfy enough! Just maintain a decent speed, and you should be good.
I’m glad to hear they aren’t too loud! Just got a set for my F-150 and can’t wait to try them out. Hope I don’t end up shouting at my friends during road trips!
