Thoughts on the 2019 Yamaha MT-10? Looking for Reviews and Feedback!

Seeking Opinions on the 2019 Yamaha MT-10

I’m considering getting a 2019 Yamaha MT-10 and wanted to gather some feedback from fellow riders and enthusiasts. This model has always caught my eye due to its aggressive styling and reputation for performance.

Specs That Interest Me

  • Engine: I’ve read that the MT-10 features a powerful 998cc engine. How does it handle in terms of acceleration and top speed?
  • Weight: With a wet weight of around 210 kg, is it manageable for both experienced and novice riders?
  • Electronics: The bike comes with a nice suite of tech features. How user-friendly and effective are the traction control and riding modes in real-world situations?

Riding Experience

I’m curious about the riding experience. Is the comfort level suitable for long rides, or is it more of a sport-oriented bike? Also, how does the suspension handle rough roads?

Performance and Comparisons

I’d love to hear how it compares to other bikes in its class—specifically, if anyone has ridden both the MT-10 and competitors like the BMW S1000R or the Kawasaki Z1000. What did you think about the differences in performance and handling?

Pricing and Availability

What should I expect in terms of pricing for a used MT-10? Are there any common issues to watch out for when buying a second-hand model?

Aftermarket Modifications

If anyone has experience with aftermarket parts or mods, what are some popular upgrades to consider? I’ve seen a lot about exhaust systems and tuning—how much of a difference do these make?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!

I’ve had my 2019 MT-10 for a few months now. The handling is phenomenal! It feels so planted in corners, and the acceleration is just electrifying. I can’t compare it to my old bike enough—it blows it out of the water!

I agree, the handling is really something special! I feel like it encourages you to push your limits in every twisty turn. Anyone else feel that way?

Absolutely, ybuckley! Plus, the instant torque from that crossplane crank engine is just… wow! You can pull out of a corner like you mean it. It’s been a game changer for me!

While I agree the acceleration is impressive, I did find the bike a bit heavy at times. In some tight corners, I have to remind myself to stay focused on balance.

That’s a fair point, but I think the weight distribution helps with stability at higher speeds. What do others think about its weight?

I love spirited rides with friends, and this bike makes it so much fun! The cornering is precise, and I feel safe at speed. Just as engaging as my previous sportbike, but way more comfortable for longer rides. Would definitely recommend!

That’s good to hear! I was considering it for a touring upgrade. How does it handle on longer trips?

It performs well on long rides! The seat is comfortable, and you don’t feel beat up after a few hours. Just don’t forget to account for that fuel range; it can be thirsty, especially when you’re having fun!

Haha, true! I like to call it the ‘thirsty beast.’ But I think the ride itself makes up for it. What do you guys think about its style?

Stylish indeed! It’s aggressive, yet has that naked vibe. I had a passerby compliment it just last week! The looks definitely grab attention, which is a bonus.

Haha! True! But hey, it does handle way better than some others I’ve tried in the category. How does it stack up against other naked bikes?

You know what they say, ‘looks aren’t everything’… but this bike might prove that wrong! Who wouldn’t want a bike that looks this good and performs like a beast?

In terms of raw power and handling, it’s hard to beat the MT-10. I’ve tried others, and they just don’t compare when it comes to acceleration and cornering capabilities.

I had my doubts initially about its price tag, but it seems justified once you ride it. I’ve seen other naked bikes faulter in power delivery; this one nails it!

I’ve been riding the 2019 MT-10 for a year now, and I have to say, the seat is very comfortable for both short and long rides. I do a lot of commuting, and it handles city traffic like a dream!

That’s good to hear! I’m worried about comfort during long-distance touring. How does the riding posture feel after a few hours?

The riding posture is pretty upright, which helps reduce fatigue. I took it on a 300-mile trip, and I felt fine throughout. It’s definitely suited for longer rides if you take breaks now and then.

I agree with jaime01. For daily commuting, it’s fantastic! But be mindful of the seat after 200 miles—you might want to upgrade to an aftermarket seat for those marathon rides.

I’ve also found the seat okay for commutes, but I wouldn’t call it plush. It’s more on the firm side, which is great for sportier riding but can get hard on longer trips if you don’t stop frequently.
