Need Help with Turn Signal Module for My Harley Davidson

Introduction

I’ve been having issues with the turn signal module on my Harley Davidson, and I’m hoping to gather some insights from fellow riders.

Problem Description

Recently, I’ve noticed that my turn signals aren’t functioning properly. Sometimes they don’t blink at all, and other times they stay on continuously. It’s become a bit of a safety concern, especially when signaling for turns.

What I’ve Tried So Far

I’ve checked the bulbs and they seem fine. I cleaned the connectors too, but unfortunately, those steps didn’t resolve the issue. I suspect it might be linked to the turn signal module itself.

Questions for the Community

  1. Has anyone experienced similar issues with their Harley Davidson’s turn signal module?
  2. What troubleshooting steps do you recommend?
  3. If I need to replace the module, are there any specific brands you recommend?
  4. Are there DIY guides or tutorials available that could help me in the replacement process?

Conclusion

I really appreciate any advice or direction you all could provide. It’s frustrating not being able to signal properly when riding. Let me know your experiences or tips!

Thanks in advance for your help!

I recently had to choose a turn signal module for my 2018 Softail. Make sure you check compatibility based on year and model, as it can vary greatly!

That’s a good point! I’ve seen some mods that don’t fit properly because people overlook the model year.

In addition to compatibility, think about features. Some modules offer things like LED integration that can really enhance visibility!

I went for a mid-range module that has advanced features, but there are cheaper options that still get the job done. It really depends on your riding style.

Exactly! I think LED turn signals are way brighter. Have you guys noticed a big difference?

I agree that features matter, but don’t forget about price! You can find decent models in the $50-$100 range, but be cautious of cheap ones!

Totally! I ended up spending a bit more, but the reliability has been worth it.

Does anyone have experience with aftermarket brands? I’m considering one but a little skeptical about their reliability.

I tried one for my older model, and it worked fine! Just read reviews before deciding.

Has anyone tried those high-tech modules that sync with your brake lights? I’ve heard mixed reviews.

I plugged one in last season, and it worked great until it didn’t… now I’m back to basics!

Modules can be a bit overwhelming with all the options! Just take your time to find the right fit. You want it to work, not spark a debate!

Hey there! Installing a turn signal module can be tricky, but there are some great tutorials online. I recommend checking out the videos from Harley Davidson enthusiasts on YouTube. They really break it down step by step!

Absolutely! I had a rough time with mine too. Make sure you have the right tools; it makes a huge difference. Don’t forget to stay safe and double-check your connections!

I agree with Robert! Safety first. Also, check your motorcycle’s manual for specific instructions related to your model.

Has anyone tried the LED modules? I hear they require different wiring than the standard ones. Would love to know more!

I’ve switched to LED! It does require a load equalizer to avoid fast blinking. But the visibility is way better. Totally worth it!

Anyone else feel like wiring can be super frustrating? I had a meltdown when connecting mine. Haha!

Totally relate to that! It’s like solving a puzzle, but with no picture to help you out. Just take breaks when needed!
