Hello everyone,

I recently acquired a 1986 Yamaha Venture Royale, and while I’m excited about it, I’ve hit a few bumps in the road. I’m hoping to tap into the collective wisdom and experience of this community to troubleshoot some challenges I’m facing.

Carburetion Problems

I had a lot of trouble with rough idling on my 1986 Yamaha Venture Royale. It turned out to be the spark plugs. Replacing them made a huge difference!

Definitely check the carburetor. Sometimes they just need adjustments. I’ve also cleaned mine and it helped with the idling issues!

On my bike, overheating was a major issue. I found that my radiator was partially clogged. Flushing it solved the problem completely.

I’ve cleaned my ignition switch a few times, and it does make a difference! Just use some contact cleaner and let it dry.
