Looking for Recommendations on Harley Touring Slip-On Exhausts

Seeking the Perfect Slip-On Exhaust for My Harley-Touring

I’ve been considering upgrading my exhaust system and I’m particularly interested in slip-on options for my Harley touring bike. After browsing through various forums and product reviews, I’m still a bit torn on which brands and models really stand out.

What I’m Looking For:

  • Sound: I want something that gives a deep and aggressive tone without being annoyingly loud.
  • Performance: Any increase in horsepower or torque is a big plus.
  • Aesthetics: Looks do matter, so I want something that complements the bike’s design.
  • Ease of Installation: I’d prefer a straightforward installation process since I might attempt to do it myself.

Potential Brands I’ve Seen:

  • Vance & Hines
  • Rinehart Racing
  • Bassani
  • Cobra

Questions for the Community:

  • Have you had any experiences with these brands?
  • Which model would you recommend and why?
  • Are there any sound clips available that can help gauge the tone of the exhaust?
  • What should I be wary of when purchasing slip-on exhausts for my model?

I’d really appreciate any feedback or personal reviews you guys can share. Looking forward to hearing your recommendations and experiences with different slip-on exhausts. Thanks!

I’m really happy with the Vance & Hines slip-ons. They gave me a noticeable boost in both horsepower and torque. I feel like I can dominate the highways now!

I’ve heard great things about these! How did the installation go for you?

I second Vance & Hines! I noticed a massive improvement in rideability too; it feels so smooth now. Plus, the sound is just awesome without being obnoxious.

Awesome! Has anyone tried the Rush Racing slip-ons? I’m curious how they stack up against Vance & Hines.

I went with Rush Racing for my street glide, and let me tell you, there was a significant gain in torque. The deep growl really complements the ride too!

Nice! How do you feel they compare when it comes to highway cruising versus city riding?

From my experience, they handle both well. However, at lower speeds, I find them a bit loud in city traffic. But on the highway? Pure bliss!

That’s good to know! I love cruising, but I don’t want to annoy neighbors at low speeds.

You can’t go wrong with the sound of a good slip-on, but let’s be frank: if you want comfort too, avoid the loudest ones. Balance is key!

Exactly! You want to make noise, not create a public disturbance. Anyone tried installing themselves? I’m curious about the process.

I’m leaning towards the Vance & Hines slip-ons. They really deliver that classic deep rumble that turns heads! Anyone else love the sound?

I totally agree! The tone is so rich. I also appreciate how they look on my bike. It’s like they were made for it!

I recently installed Reinhardt slip-ons. They have a beefy sound that makes my touring bike feel more aggressive. Definitely recommend them for a loud note!

Great choice! How do they compare when it comes to loudness on the highway? I’d love to hear your thoughts on the noise level.

It’s all about personal preference. I love my Slip-On exhaust for that balanced sound. It’s not too loud but still makes a statement! Just right for long rides.

That’s a smart approach! Sometimes loud is not better. It’s nice to enjoy the ride without going overboard.

For those looking to explore options, check out the Cobra slip-ons! I haven’t tried them yet, but I’ve heard they produce a unique sound that plays well with the bike’s aesthetics.

I’ve heard a lot about them as well. Does anyone know if they produce a deep sound or lean more towards a high-pitched note?

I prefer deep, loud notes myself. Exhausts that rumble really resonate with me. I think they add to the Harley’s character. What do you all think?
