Looking for Recommendations on First Gear Heated Gear?

As the colder months are approaching, I’ve been thinking about how to stay warm while driving. I’ve heard a lot about heated gear, specifically tailored for use in vehicles, and I’m quite interested in exploring options.

What I’m After

I’m looking for products that help make the driving experience more comfortable during the winter, ideally focused on ‘first gear’ items that you can quickly use as soon as you get in the car. Here are a few specific things I’m considering:

  • Heated Seat Covers: Do they really make a difference, and are there any brands that are particularly good?
  • Heated Steering Wheel Covers: Are they worth it?
  • Heated Clothing: Like jackets or vests that can be used while driving. Anyone found anything that works well?

I’m keen to hear your thoughts and experiences! Let’s stay warm this winter!

I’m also in the market for First Gear heated gear! I’ve heard that the Heated Jacket Liner is excellent for staying warm on long rides. Its lightweight design is a plus too.

I can attest to that! I’ve used it for over a year now, and it really gets the job done. Plus, it fits well under my riding gear.

Definitely consider the First Gear heated gloves as well! They have a full battery life of about 8 hours. In my experience, they kept my hands toasty during long rides.

That’s impressive! Have you noticed any discrepancies in heat levels between the different settings?

I’ve had my First Gear heated vest for two seasons now. It’s great, but I noticed the heat tends to fade after a couple of years. Worth it though, especially for the price.

Thanks for that insight! It seems the quality might be something to weigh against the initial cost for longevity.

I’ve been using the First Gear heated pant liners too. They are a game changer in cold weather. It’s like having a warm hug on your legs while riding!

I agree with you, cookrandy! It’s hard to beat that feeling. However, I’ve heard some complaints about sizing. Have you had any issues with that?

Not really, but my sizing tends to run a bit larger. Just make sure to check the size charts before ordering!

Has anyone tried the First Gear heated socks? I heard they’re a bit pricey but worth it for the warmth. How do they compare to the gloves?

I have! They’re definitely warm, but the gloves offer more versatility when it comes to adjusting heat levels rapidly.

Honestly, if you’re going for gloves or socks, just don’t plan on using them while handling rides. It’s like trying to write a novel with mittens on!

Haha! That’s a humorous way to put it! Better stick to gloves with fingertips for better grip then!

I’ve been using First Gear heated gear for a couple of seasons now. To maximize battery life, I turn it down to the lowest setting when I’m not moving much. It really helps conserve power!

Great tip! I’ve also noticed that keeping the battery full during charging enhances its lifespan. Just don’t let it completely die!

Don’t forget to clean your gear regularly! Gentle hand washing works best to keep the heating elements intact. Who wants a dirty heated jacket anyway?

Absolutely! And air drying is the way to go; never throw them in the dryer, or you’ll risk damaging them.

I love my heated gear! Using it while on long rides in cold weather makes such a difference. Just be sure to adjust it before you start feeling chilly to stay comfortable.

So true! Just remember that layering can also help your gear work even better. That extra insulation is a game changer!
