Looking for Molle Panels for My 4th Gen 4Runner

I’ve been diving into the world of MOLLE panels and am particularly interested in options for my 4th generation Toyota 4Runner (2003-2009). I do a lot of off-roading and I’m planning on modifying the interior to make storage more efficient and organized, especially in the rear cargo area and windows.

Why Molle Panels?

MOLLE panels are incredibly functional, allowing for versatile storage solutions that can hold everything from recovery gear to camping supplies. The idea is to free up space and keep essential items within easy reach while maintaining an organized setup.

What I’m Looking For

  • Different Brands: Are there specific brands that stand out in terms of quality and durability?
  • Price Range: What should I expect to pay for decent MOLLE panels?
  • Installation Tips: Has anyone installed these themselves? I’d love some guidance on the installation process since I’m planning on doing it in my garage.
  • Recommendations: If you have a favorite product or specific MOLLE panel that works well in a 4Runner, please share!

Additional Considerations

I’m also curious about how these panels hold up during intense outdoor activities. Are there any issues with wear and tear that I should be aware of?

It’s always helpful to see photos of setups, especially inside a 4Runner. If you have any insights or tips, please drop them here. Thanks in advance for your help!

I’m also looking to install Molle panels in my 4th Gen 4Runner. Any recommendations on the best type to get?

I found the panels from Mictuning really sturdy. Installation was fairly straightforward, but I suggest having a friend help hold them in place while you drill.

Mictuning panels are a solid choice! Just make sure you have some basic tools: a drill, screws, and some extra hands for alignment. It can get a bit tricky.

I had a tough time with alignment. The panels were slightly off, and it took forever to adjust. Anyone have tips on getting them straight?

Oh man, that was me! I used a level for alignment - it made a world of difference!

Don’t forget to check the fitment before drilling. This saved me from a potential disaster with misaligned holes!

Smart idea! I’m planning to give that a shot. Did you use a standard level or a laser level?

A standard level worked for me! It’s straightforward, and you can get it for cheap at any hardware store.

Anyone else run into issues with distances between holes? I swear mine were all over the place. Might be a bad batch of panels.

I had that issue too! It seemed like a factory flaw. I contacted Mictuning, and they sent me a replacement set without fuss.

Good to know! I’ll keep that in mind if I run into problems. Did you have to send the originals back?

Nope, they told me to keep the originals, which was nice! Just filled out a quick form.

I wonder how many people have accidentally drilled into something important behind the panels. Better double-check the wiring!

Right? I had that fear too! Makes you wish you had X-ray vision.

I’m also looking for Molle panels for my 4th Gen 4Runner! I’ve heard good things about the ones from ‘Body Armor’. They’re durable and fit well. Anyone have experience with them?

I have Body Armor panels, and I’m happy with them! They are super sturdy and worth the investment. Just be sure to check the installation instructions – it can be a bit tricky.

I’m curious about the fitment of these panels. Do they require drilling? I’d love to find a more user-friendly option that doesn’t involve permanent modifications.

Most of the time, yes. But I managed to install mine without drilling using some additional support brackets. It saves the integrity of your 4Runner!

A buddy of mine swears by ‘TJT’ panels. He says they are super easy to install and quite affordable. Has anyone else tried those?
