Looking for Ideas on Regular Cab Behind Seat Storage Solutions

Exploring Storage Options for Regular Cab Trucks

I’ve been searching for ways to maximize the limited space in my regular cab truck, especially the area behind the seats. It can be tricky to keep things organized without creating clutter or losing access to important gear.

Here are a few things I’m considering and would love your input on:

Types of Storage Solutions

  • Storage Bags or Organizers: Are there any specific brands or types that have worked well for you?
  • Custom Shelving Units: Has anyone tried installing a shelving unit or platform behind the seats? If so, how did that work out?
  • Under-Seat Storage: Any ideas on utilizing the area under the seat for tools or gear?

Product Recommendations

If you’ve come across links to products that fit behind the seat of a regular cab, please share! The goal is to find options that:

  • Are easy to install
  • Don’t take up too much space
  • Keep the cab looking clean and organized

Tips for Organization

I’m also interested in any organization hacks you all might have. How do you keep tools or personal items from sliding around or getting lost?

Any feedback would be truly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your help.

Looking forward to your suggestions and sharing ideas!

I’ve been looking into simple shelving units that can fit snugly behind the seats. They can hold tools, first-aid kits, and other essentials. Just be sure to secure them so they don’t fly around while driving!

Great idea! I was thinking of adding custom compartments for my camping gear. Has anyone tried building their own?

I have a DIY project I completed! I used wood and dividers to create a modular system behind the seats. It’s functional and fits my gear perfectly. Happy to share the plans!

That sounds awesome, @lindseymeza! What kind of wood did you use? I want it to be sturdy but lightweight. Any tips?

My favorite trick is using small storage bins that fit between the seat and the wall. It’s easy to access and keeps everything organized. Plus, they’re removable!

I love that idea! It’s a great way to maximize space without a lot of work. Have others tried other storage systems?

There are great options for under-seat storage too. You can find custom fit systems that utilize that space efficiently. Worth checking out the aftermarket parts!

I agree with @christinalang! I’ve seen some fantastic under-seat storage solutions that perfectly fit regular cabs. They’re a game-changer for organization.

Using magnetic strips to hold tools or small items on the back of the seats could be another quick solution. Anyone else into organizing this way?

That sounds creative, @nancy62! Just be careful those tools don’t fly off when taking sharp turns! Anyone experienced that?

I haven’t had that problem, @mary90, but I did lose a water bottle once! Always check the weight on those magnets. Sourcing good ones is key.

All these ideas are great, but I wonder if the added storage will make the cab feel cramped. Has anyone had that experience?

That’s a valid point, @william85. Balancing space and storage is essential! It’s about choosing what you really need. I’m interested to see what others say.

Added storage can feel a bit much at times, but with a good organization system, it can be very effective. Just remember, less is sometimes more!

Storage is like a taco, really. You can always pack more in, but you risk spilling it everywhere! Just gotta find the right balance! :joy:

Looking for storage solutions for behind the seat? I’d recommend checking out the DU-HA storage boxes. They fit perfectly in the space and are sturdy enough for tools or sports gear.

I’ve heard great things about the DU-HA! They also double as a legal gun case, which is a nice bonus for those who need it.

Another option is the Roll & Lock cargo management system. It provides a modular approach, and you can customize it based on your needs. Very versatile!
