Looking for a Solid Rear Bumper for My Harley Trike!

Seeking Recommendations for Harley Trike Rear Bumpers

I’m on the hunt for a replacement rear bumper for my Harley trike and I could really use some advice! There seems to be a whole bunch of options out there, so I’m hoping to get some input from anyone who has gone through this process.

What I’m Looking For:

  • Durability: I need something that can withstand daily rides, preferably something sturdy that won’t bend or break easily.
  • Design: Aesthetics matter to me! I want the bumper to complement the sleek look of my trike.
  • Functionality: Any added features that could enhance safety would be a big plus.

Questions to Consider:

  1. Aftermarket vs OEM: Is it better to stick with an OEM bumper, or have you found any high-quality aftermarket options?
  2. Price Range: What’s a reasonable price to expect for a decent rear bumper? Are there brands you swear by?
  3. Installation: I prefer to do some of my own work. How easy is it to install these bumpers? Any tips?

If you’ve swapped out your bumper or have any leads on where to find the best options, I’d love to hear your experiences! Let’s see if we can share some recommendations and maybe even some reviews.

Thanks in advance for your help!

You should check out bumpers made from steel and aluminum. Steel is heavier but super durable, while aluminum is lighter and still offers good protection. Both have their perks!

I’ve had great experiences with the chrome bumpers. They look fantastic on my trike! Just make sure they fit your model properly.

But be careful with chrome; it can get scratched easily. Have you looked into powder-coated options? They’re scratch-resistant and come in various colors.

I agree with you, meyersdavid! Powder-coated bumpers are fantastic! Plus, they add a unique touch to the overall look of the trike.

What about compatibility? Do all bumpers fit all Harley trikes?

Great point! Always check the manufacturer’s guidelines for compatibility based on your specific model and year.

Has anyone tried the bumpers with built-in lights? They add a neat aesthetic and improve visibility at night!

I’ve seen those! They’re really cool. Just make sure to wire them correctly to avoid electrical issues. Anyone had problems with that?

Sure, built-in lights look cool until you run into wiring troubles! They can be quite a pain. I prefer a simple design.

I believe aesthetics matter, but protection is key! Don’t compromise on safety; you need a durable bumper despite how it looks.

Absolutely! What’s the use of a pretty bumper if it won’t protect your trike in case of an accident? Durability is definitely my top priority.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I guess finding the right balance between style and safety is vital! So much to consider!

Hey everyone! I’m looking for a solid rear bumper for my Harley trike and would love some advice on installation. Anyone got tips?

Installing a rear bumper can be tricky. Make sure you have a socket set, torque wrench, and a friend to help you out. It’ll make the process smoother!

Great tip, patriciahardy! I would also recommend laying out all your tools beforehand. You’ve got this, deborah84!

I’ve installed several on mine, and the biggest pitfall I faced was not properly aligning the bumper. Double-check measurements before securing anything.

For a quick fix, you might want to check out the online video tutorials. They walk you through every step! Have you looked into those yet?

That’s a solid suggestion! Can anyone recommend a specific video or channel? I’m a visual learner myself.
