I’ve owned my 2013 Sportster for about two years now, and I love the engine response. It kicks in immediately, which makes city riding a blast!

That sounds awesome! I find the acceleration to be quite addictive—especially for a bike this size. It really feels peppy on the freeway!

I agree with both of you! The handling is surprisingly agile for a cruiser. It slices through corners without feeling heavy at all.

Exactly! I took mine on a mountain ride, and it handled like a dream. No wobbling at all!

Just a word of caution: the Sportster can feel a bit twitchy in strong winds. So just keep that in mind if you’re planning on long rides.

Good point! On a rainy day, I found it tricky to maintain traction when accelerating out of corners.

I have a 2013 Sportster too! It’s a solid bike for cruising around town, but highway speeds can get a bit uncomfortable for longer distances.

Completely agree! But I just added some wind deflectors, and it made a world of difference on the highway!

I love that you can easily customize the Sportster. Making small tweaks can significantly change its performance in different conditions.

Definitely! I added a different exhaust, and the engine response is now even better. Not to mention it sounds amazing!

Can anyone speak to the fuel economy? I’ve heard mixed reviews but would love to know what you guys have experienced.

I get around 50 MPG on mine, but that varies with how I ride. Aggressive throttle will drop that for sure!

I often ride two-up, and I have to say the Sportster does perform well with a passenger, though you can really feel the weight on steep hills.

Totally! It’s like riding with a refrigerator strapped to the back sometimes! But it’s manageable with a bit of practice.

I own a 2013 Sportster and can say the seat comfort is decent, but it might not be the best for long rides. I added a gel seat and it made a huge difference! Ergonomics are generally good for shorter trips but can get tiring over time.

I’ve heard that the stock seat can be hard for long-distance riding. What brand of gel seat did you end up going with?

I’ve had my 2013 Sportster for years and I find the riding position perfect for me. I can ride for a few hours before needing a break. That said, a highway ride can be taxing without a backrest.

Do you use any modifications for comfort? I’m thinking about a new seat or perhaps handlebar risers.

I added pullback handlebars and a comfort seat to my Sportster. The difference was night and day! Now, I can hit the road for hours without feeling like I need a chiropractor afterward.
