Any feedback on the Michelin Floor Jack 3 1/2 Ton?

Seeking Advice on the Michelin Floor Jack 3 1/2 Ton

Hey everyone,
I’m currently in the market for a floor jack and came across the Michelin Floor Jack 3 1/2 Ton. I’ve read some great reviews, but I wanted to dig a bit deeper before making a purchase.

Here are some specific points I’m curious about:

  • Lifting Capacity: Is this jack really capable of lifting heavier vehicles with ease? I have a truck that weighs about 6,500 lbs, so I need something that won’t struggle.
  • Durability: Has anyone had issues with this jack leaking oil or failing? I heard that some jacks have a tendency to lose hydraulic fluid over time, which raises a red flag for me.
  • Ease of Use: How does it compare to other brands? Is it easy to maneuver, especially in tighter spaces under the car?
  • Height and Clearance: What’s the minimum height? I’ve got some low-profile cars, and I need to know if this jack will fit.
  • Replacement Parts: Has anyone had to replace a part? If so, how easy is it to find compatible parts or get service?

I’d love to hear your experiences, tips, or any reviews you might have! Thanks in advance for your help and insights. Looking forward to your feedback!

I’ve been using the Michelin Floor Jack 3 1/2 Ton for a few months and it’s been solid! The lifting capacity is impressive, and I’ve lifted everything from a Honda Accord to a full-size truck without any issues.

That’s great to hear! Stability is so important. Have you noticed any wobbling when fully loaded?

I agree with loriwood; I’ve used it for my SUV with no problems! It feels stable, and the pump action is smooth. It’s a bit heavy, but that just adds to the stability while lifting.

That sounds good! How does it handle on uneven surfaces? I’m a bit concerned about that when I do some work on gravel.

I’ve used mine mostly on pavement, but I tried it on gravel once, and while it was okay, it wasn’t ideal. Just make sure to place it on stable ground if you can.

Good to know! I guess a solid surface would be better for safety, especially with heavier vehicles.

I’ve lifted my truck numerous times with this jack. It has never let me down! The wheels roll smoothly, making it easy to maneuver. Definitely a great purchase.

Sounds impressive! What about the safety features, like the release valve? Any issues with it?

The release valve works without any hitches for me. Just be careful not to lower it too quickly, as it may drop suddenly. Overall, safety hasn’t been a worry for me.

I had a different experience! Once, it dropped unexpectedly while I was under the car. Not sure if it was just a flaw on that day or what… Definitely shook me up.

Yikes! That sounds scary. Was it properly locked before you got under it? I wonder if that could have been the issue.

I’ve had the Michelin Floor Jack for over a year now, and I must say the materials feel sturdy. The steel construction is impressive, and it has held up well. No significant wear and tear so far.

That’s great to hear, swallace! I’ve been using mine for just a few months, and it feels really durable too. No issues with rust or anything yet.

I’ve had mine for about 6 months and noticed some scratches on the paint. Has anyone else experienced this? It’s not a big deal, but I’m curious if it means anything regarding long-term durability.

It’s normal for some wear to happen, especially if you use it frequently. The important thing is whether the jack still functions well, right?

Exactly, hsimmons! Mine has been put to the test multiple times and still lifts like new. The mechanics seem robust.

I’ve read mixed reviews on the longevity of Michelin products. Anyone else have longer-term experiences with this floor jack?

Good point! I’ve only had mine for a few months, but it does seem solid. I wonder if older models had different issues?

Mine is a year old and still performs well without any leaks or cracks. The materials feel premium, so I think it should last.
