Why are my turn signals not working but hazards do?

Have you checked if there’s power getting to the turn signal bulbs? Using a multimeter will let you know if the circuit is complete. It’s a game changer!

I’ll get my multimeter out! Cross your fingers for me—I’ve never been great with electrical stuff.

A good step is to isolate each component one by one in the circuit. It’s tedious but can really pinpoint where the fault lies.

Isolating components sounds boring but necessary. Who knew car troubles could sound like a science experiment?

It could very well be a bad ground as well. Don’t forget to inspect all ground connections for corrosion or damage!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll add that to my list. Corroded grounds can be sneaky little devils!

Don’t sweat it if you can’t figure it out right away! Sometimes these things take time, and it’s all part of the learning process. You’ll get it sorted!

It sounds like a wiring issue. If your hazards work, the relay might be good, but the turn signal switch could be faulty. Have you checked that yet?

I had a similar issue with my car! Turned out it was just a bad connection at the switch. A simple fix!

If it’s not the switch, it might be worth checking the bulbs. Sometimes they can cause weird electrical issues. Have you replaced them recently?

That could be it. It’s good to know it’s an easy fix. I’m hesitant to dive into complicating repairs if I don’t have to!

Another thing to consider is the flasher relay. Just because the hazards work doesn’t mean the turn signal side is fine. Sometimes these relays can malfunction.

Totally get you on not wanting to complicate it! But if you can’t find anything obvious, maybe a mechanic can help pinpoint it.

I hadn’t thought about that! It’s definitely a cheaper option to try before replacing the switch or bulbs, right?

Yes, flasher relays are usually affordable. Sometimes, just trying different components can save headaches later! It’s like trial and error in car repair.

What about DIY solutions? For some, that’s the way to go! I once fixed my signals using a YouTube tutorial. Just be sure to take safety precautions!

That’s a great idea! Most DIYs are easy to follow if you have the right tools. I might give that a shot!

Don’t forget to check fuses too! A blown fuse can cause turn signal issues while leaving hazards functional. Definitely worth a quick check.

That’s true, I should’ve thought of fuses first! They’re often overlooked but can be the simplest solution sometimes. Thanks for the reminder!

Humorously enough, I feel like a fuse is always the culprit in these situations! It’s the car’s way of keeping us guessing, huh?
