What's the Bolt Pattern for a 2008 Duramax?

I found a great set of wheels on Facebook Marketplace with that bolt pattern. Just like Bmack said, check the offset—some brands have wider offsets that could cause rubbing if not carefully measured.

Thanks for the heads up! Are there specific brands you recommend for wheels that fit well with a Duramax?

I’ve had a good experience with Fuel Off-Road wheels. They come with good offsets and a solid build. I run 20-inch Fuel wheels on my Duramax, and they’ve held up great!

Fuel wheels are cool! I also like the Black Rhino brand—they have some nice styles that fit the 8x6.5 pattern. Just make sure you check the load rating too!

Supportive brands with good options definitely matter! How about tires? Do you recommend any brands that pair well with aftermarket wheels for the Duramax?

I swear by BFG All-Terrain tires! They fit well with my aftermarket wheels and provide great traction off-road. Plus, they look good too!

BFG is a solid choice! Any thoughts on mixing brands between wheels and tires? I’ve heard mixed opinions.

It’s usually best to stick with matching brands for tires and wheels, but some people mix and match successfully. You just need to make sure they have the proper fitment specs!

Mixing can be hit or miss—I had a bad experience with different brands rubbing together. Always check the compatibility.

Exactly! I’ve seen some folks get creative with their setups; sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn’t!

Well said! It’s always a gamble when you step outside the recommended choices. Has anyone looked into custom wheels for the Duramax? How does that change the bolt pattern situation?

Custom wheels can be awesome, but make sure they can accommodate the stock bolt pattern. Some brands allow drilling for different patterns—just confirm they’re safe to use.

That’s a great point! Safety first! I’m just here hoping not to get involved in any wheel drama when picking my new set!

The bolt pattern for a 2008 Duramax is 8x180mm. It’s really important to double-check this when installing new wheels to avoid misalignment issues.

Thanks for sharing! I had no idea the numbers were so crucial until I messed up my first installation.

Yep, I’ve had my share of issues with incorrect bolt patterns. Make sure you’re using the right lug nuts too. It can change everything!

That’s good advice! I’ve seen people use the wrong ones, and it leads to stripped threads. Ouch!

I’ll add that if you’re experiencing vibrations while driving, it may be due to an improperly aligned bolt pattern. Always check before you hit the road!

So true! If one wheel’s not aligned due to the wrong pattern, it can totally affect all the others. It’s like a domino effect.

When I installed my rims, I used a torque wrench to ensure they were tightened properly. Anyone else have tips?
