Honestly, they all have their charms! The 2013 model had some unique color options that I just love. Who wouldn’t smile driving a bright orange Xterra?
Bright orange? Now that’s a bold choice! But you can’t argue that the earlier years really have a more classic and rugged look.
I’ve owned a 2005 Xterra for over a decade, and I can say it’s the best model! The off-road capability is fantastic, and it’s so reliable. Definitely my favorite year.
I agree! I’ve heard great things about the 2004 model too. Many owners love the engine performance in that year. Anyone here have experience with that year?
I had a 2010 model and it was solid. I did have some minor electrical issues, but overall, I loved the spaciousness and the rugged feel. Still miss it sometimes!

Space is definitely a plus! What’s the storage like in the 2006 model? I’m considering that one mainly for its design.
The 2006 Xterra has great cargo space! I’ve packed it for road trips multiple times, and it holds everything without a problem. Perfect for adventurers!

Fuel efficiency did drop a bit in the 2009 and 2010 models, unfortunately. The earlier years like 2004-2006 are often more economical. Still, love those later models for their updates!
I find it funny how we’re all reminiscing about our Xterras like they’re old friends. Any worst years anyone picks? I’ve heard 2007 had some transmission issues.

Agreed! My friend avoided the 2007 for that reason alone. It could be hit or miss, I guess.
