What do you all think of my white Silverado with black rims?

I bet they look amazing! Anyone else here notice how washing black rims is a nightmare though? I mean, all the brake dust!

For real! I get so much brake dust that I have to clean them weekly. But I feel the black rims give my Silverado a more aggressive stance. Wouldn’t change it for the world!

Could it be worth it to trade aesthetics for performance? Just raised questions for thought. Have you compared handling on and off-road with those rims yet?

I think black rims really pop against a white Silverado! Just keep in mind that they can attract brake dust like a magnet. A good wax can help resist that.

Absolutely! Regular cleaning is key. The rims can look worn if you let brake dust accumulate, especially on matte finishes.

I’ve had a set of black rims on my truck for a few years. They’ve held up well, but I went with a powder-coated finish for better durability. Worth considering!

That’s a great tip! I’ve read that powder-coated rims resist chipping better than painted ones too. What did you find most challenging about maintenance?

I’m glad to hear they’ve performed well! I wonder if they’re more expensive upfront but worth it for longevity.

Definitely worth it! In fact, good black rims can last for years if they’re made from quality aluminum and kept clean. Just be ready for occasional touch-ups.

I’ve also found that the material makes a big difference. Some cheap black rims just don’t hold up. What brand did you go with?

Exactly! I had a bad experience with budget rims after only a year. Stick with reputable brands like Fuel or XD for durability.

These conversations always get me thinking. I wonder how different finishes affect the look over time? Are glossy or matte finishes harder to maintain?

That’s a great question! Glossy finishes are often easier to clean, but they show scratches more. Matte can hide wear but might need specific cleaners.
