Thinking About a 3.5 Inch Lift for My 2019 Silverado - Need Opinions!

Introduction

I’m contemplating a 3.5 inch lift for my 2019 Chevy Silverado and would love to get some advice from those who’ve already done this upgrade or are considering it. I’m looking to enhance both the performance and aesthetics of my truck, but I’m unsure which lift kit to choose.

Questions I Have:

  • Lift Kit Recommendations: What brands or specific kits have you guys used? What were your experiences with them?
  • Installation Tips: How difficult is the installation? Did you do it yourself or have a shop do it? Any specific challenges I should be aware of?
  • Tire Size Compatibility: What size tires can I fit after a 3.5 inch lift? Any recommendations on tire brands that work well?
  • Impact on Performance: Has anyone noticed any significant changes in ride quality, handling, or towing capacity after lifting their Silverado?
  • Cost Estimates: What’s the range I should expect for both the lift kit and installation? Any hidden costs I should be aware of?

Conclusion

I really want to make an informed decision before diving in, as I want this upgrade to complement my ride rather than cause problems. Any insights you can share would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!

I’m also considering a 3.5 inch lift for my 2019 Silverado. I’ve heard great things about Rough Country. They offer a good balance between price and performance. Anyone else had experiences with them?

I’ve had Rough Country on my truck for a year now. The ride quality is decent for the price, but it can get a bit bumpy on rough terrain. Just a heads up!

Have you guys looked into Skyjacker lifts? They seem to be popular among off-road enthusiasts for their durability. I’m curious if anyone has compared them with Rough Country?

I actually went for a Skyjacker lift! The articulation is amazing, but installation was a bit tricky. Definitely worth it if you go off-roading often.

I’m leaning towards BDS Suspension. They offer a lifetime warranty and have a solid reputation. Anyone think this is overkill for a daily driver?

BDS is fantastic! But if it’s just for daily driving, it might be more lift than you need. Just think about how you’re using it!

Don’t forget about the essential upgrades like shocks after a lift. I’ve got Bilstein 5100s, and they work great with my lift—smooth ride and better control.

That’s a good point, mbrown! Shocks are crucial. Anyone here gone with Fox shocks? I’ve heard they’re pretty awesome for handling.

I did! They’ve transformed my ride. However, they are a bit pricier. Worth it if you’re serious about performance though!

For humor’s sake, I’m picturing my Silverado lifting off the ground like it’s ready for takeoff with all these options! But seriously, these upgrades are important to consider, right?

I’m thinking about a lift too! For my 2019 Silverado, I found a 3.5 inch lift kit online that seems promising. Just wondering about the installation difficulty!

The installation can be tricky! Make sure to have proper tools and maybe a buddy to help out. I did mine over a weekend but had some hiccups with alignment.

I did a 3.5 lift on my 2018 Silverado, and I faced a battle with the front struts! You really need to compress them properly or they won’t fit right. It’s intimidating but worth it for the look!

So true! I used a spring compressor and it saved me a lot of frustration. Always double-check the torque specs after installation too!

I’m planning to lift mine too! Is it a good idea to get everything aligned right after installation, or can I wait a bit?

Definitely get it aligned right after! I learned the hard way when my tires wore unevenly. A quick visit to the shop saved me a lot of hassle later on.

Good tip! I also found out I needed new shocks with my lift. Didn’t realize that before I started!

Just finished my 3.5 inch lift last week! It looks amazing, but the process was longer than expected. A few stubborn bolts made it a challenge. Anyone got tips on those?

Use some penetrating oil ahead of time! It really helped me loosen those bolts that just wouldn’t budge.
