No Screw License Plate Holder - Need Recommendations!

I’ve been searching for a no screw license plate holder that doesn’t involve drilling holes into my car. I really want something that looks clean and preserves the integrity of my vehicle. It’s frustrating to find products that either don’t work as promised or could potentially damage my car.

Here’s what I’m looking for:

  • Easy installation: I want something that I can mount without needing any specific tools or skills.
  • Durability: It should hold up against the elements and not fall off while driving.
  • Aesthetic appeal: I’d prefer it to look good on my vehicle, avoiding any bulky or unattractive designs.
  • Legal compliance: It’s important that whatever I use meets local guidelines without drawing unwanted attention.

Questions for the community:

  1. Has anyone used a no screw license plate holder that they would recommend?
  2. What methods have you found effective for mounting license plates without screws?
  3. Are there any products on the market that are particularly reputable?

I’d greatly appreciate any tips or brand suggestions! Looking forward to your feedback and experiences. Thanks in advance!

P.S. If you have advice on DIY methods that wouldn’t damage the paint or bodywork, that would be amazing too!

I’m also looking for no screw license plate holders! Adhesive options seem great, but I’m curious about their longevity. Anyone tried them in extreme weather?

I’ve used adhesive holders on my sedan for a year, and they have held up really well! No signs of peeling yet, even through rain and heat.

I recently bought a no screw plate holder with specialized clips. They were super easy to install, and they fit my SUV perfectly. Highly recommend them!

Which brand did you use, Victoria? I need something that works on my compact car.

I agree with you both! I found a combo of clips and adhesive works great for my hatchback. No more rattling noises from the plate!

Interesting! I’ve always used traditional screws. Are these no screw options really safe for highway speeds? Just imagine a plate flying off!

It seems like they hold up well! I’ve driven on the highway several times, and both types I tried were secure.

I’ve read that some states have specific laws about license plate holders. Does anyone know if the adhesive ones are legal everywhere?

Good point, Gary. Always double-check your local regulations! I personally prefer the ones with clips as they seem less likely to cause issues with the law.

That sounds smart! Clips can be easily removed too, unlike adhesive options that might damage the paint.

I’ve got a great idea! What if we all pooled our experiences and created a pros and cons list for the different products?

Count me in for the list! On the humorous side, can you imagine if each driver had a license plate holder that just said ‘screws are for losers’? LOL

Haha, that would be a hit! But all jokes aside, I’m really considering the clips; they seem the most effective for practicality and safety.

I’ve been using a flexible plastic no screw license plate holder for over a year. It’s performed well in rain and moderate snow, but I’m curious if others have had issues in extreme cold. Has anyone experienced cracking?

I haven’t had any cracking issues, but my holder is metal. It handles winter fine but does get cold to the touch! Anyone else notice this?

I heard some plastic holders are UV resistant, which is great for hot temperatures. But how do they hold up against snow and ice? Looking for options that withstand everything!

I’ve had a composite material holder for two winters now. It’s held up impressively well with no bending or breakage, even in heavy snow. Highly recommend it!

Great to hear! I live in a place with extreme weather changes. Has anyone tested these holders through both summer heat and winter cold?

Yes! My all-weather plastic holder has survived scorching summers and harsh winters with no issues. I think durability really depends on the brand though!
