I’ve heard cleaning the mass airflow sensor helps. It made a small difference on mine. Could be worth a shot!

I’ve also replaced my fuel injectors. The improvement in performance was noticeable! Could be a good investment if you’re struggling with MPG.

I own a 2002 Ford with the 5.4 and have had great success with a cold air intake. It’s one of the simplest upgrades and has significantly improved my throttle response.

Yes! Installing headers can greatly enhance exhaust flow. I went with long tube headers, and it woke my engine right up! Just be careful about emissions if that’s a concern.
