Does anyone have an identification chart for the 4L60E? I’m trying to figure out what model I have, and there seem to be so many variations!

You can check the model number on the transmission itself. Usually, it’s located on the driver’s side towards the back. Just a little rub of paint or grime can hide it, so look closely!

I’ve had some slipping issues lately. Is that a common problem with the 4L60E? What can I do to fix it?

Absolutely, slipping is a common issue! Sometimes, it just needs a fluid change, but it could be a sign of a deeper problem. How many miles are on your transmission?

I had overheating issues with mine! A cooler upgrade did the trick for me. Anyone else tried that?

Harsh shifting can be a headache! I found that adjusting the TV cable can help smooth things out.

Totally agree! It’s such an easy fix and can make a huge difference in how the transmission shifts.

When should we know it’s time to seek professional help? Sometimes I feel out of my depth.
