Seeking Alternatives and Compatibility for WIX 51334 Oil Filter

Hey everyone,

I’ve been doing some maintenance on my vehicle and came across the WIX 51334 oil filter. I’m trying to figure out if there are any compatible alternatives or cross-references I should be aware of.

What I’m Looking For:

  • Cross-reference numbers: Are there other brands or specific models that fit the same specifications as the WIX 51334?
  • Specifications: Any insights on the filter’s micron rating, flow rate, or any other critical details that make it stand out?
  • Installation Tips: If you’ve had any experience installing this filter or its alternatives, any tips would be appreciated!

Why It Matters:

As someone who’s trying to keep up with regular oil changes and maintenance, making sure I have the right filter is crucial to ensuring my engine runs smoothly. I’d love to hear from anyone who has done their research or has practical experience with the WIX 51334 or similar filters.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can share!

I’m looking into the WIX 51334 filter myself. From what I’ve gathered, it’s commonly used in various Ford models, especially the F-150. Does anyone have more experience with it?

Absolutely! I’ve used it in my 2010 Ford Escape, and it worked perfectly. No issues at all.

That’s interesting! What kind of maintenance schedule did you follow with that filter?

I usually change mine every 5,000 miles or so. Always feel it’s safer that way! Has anyone tried it with a Honda?

WIX 51334 is also compatible with some GM vehicles. I put it in my 2008 Chevy Malibu, and I can’t complain about the performance.

It’s not listed for Hondas directly, but I hear that some people have had luck using it in Civics. Anyone else tried this?

That’s a bit contentious, don’t you think? I always stick to OEM filters for my Hondas.

On a lighter note, if I had a dollar for every filter I’ve messed up, I’d probably be able to buy a lifetime supply of WIX!

Haha, right? I think we all have those moments where we think we know better. My last filter change reminded me I’m not a mechanic!

I’ve had great luck with my Jeep Grand Cherokee using the WIX 51334. It’s perfect for that model—really smooth performance afterwards.

That’s good to hear! It’s always best to hear direct experiences. I’m definitely considering it now for my next change.

Has anyone done a performance comparison between the Wix 51334 and other filters like the Purolator Boss or Fram Ultra? I’m curious how they stack up in terms of filtration efficiency.

I’ve used both Wix and Purolator Boss. The Wix offers great filtration but can be pricier. Sometimes it’s worth it if you want quality.

I’ve switched between Wix 51334 and some cheaper filters. Honestly, I noticed a difference in oil pressure with the Wix. Definitely worth it for high-mileage vehicles!

That’s interesting, simsmaria! What specific issues did you face with the cheaper filters? I’m trying to decide how much that difference is worth.

I had concerns about oil starvation with cheaper brands, especially under heavy loads. I feel confident using Wix for my performance car.

I’m a loyal Wix user, but I’ve heard mixed reviews about the FRAM filters. Some folks swear by them for their price point, while others say avoid them. Thoughts?

I had a Fram once and it fell apart. Never again! Wix may cost a bit more, but I trust their construction – you get what you pay for.

Exactly! I’ve found that the quality of the Wix filters justified the price in the long run. No issues so far!
