Looking for Tow Mirror Upgrades for My 2016 F150

Seeking Advice on Tow Mirrors for a 2016 F150

I’m looking to enhance the towing capabilities of my 2016 Ford F150, and I’ve been considering upgrading to aftermarket tow mirrors. I’ve noticed that having proper mirrors makes a huge difference when towing, especially for visibility.

Here are some things I’d like advice on:

  • Product Recommendations: What are some of the best aftermarket tow mirrors you guys have installed? Any specific brands you trust or recommend?
  • Installation Instructions: How complicated is the installation process? Do I need any special tools, or is it just a straightforward bolt-on type of job?
  • Features to Look For: Are there specific features that I should prioritize, like power adjustments, turn signals, heating, or built-in LED lights?
  • Compatibility: Will the mirrors you recommend fit my model year without any modifications? If you’ve run into compatibility issues, I’d love to hear about them.

Why I’m Looking to Upgrade

As I often haul trailers and equipment, having a better view of what’s behind me is crucial. I’ve seen a variety of options online, but I’m unsure what will provide the best results without breaking the bank.

Any Additional Tips?

If you’ve recently upgraded your mirrors, share your experiences—both good and bad. I’m open to any advice on what has worked for you!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey everyone! I’m looking to upgrade my tow mirrors on my 2016 F150. Has anyone tried any specific models? I want something that fits well without modification.

I recently installed the OEM Ford tow mirrors on my 2016 F150, and they fit perfectly! No issues with the wiring either. Definitely recommend them.

I also went with OEM mirrors. The installation was straightforward, and they look great! Just make sure you get the right wiring harness.

What kind of wiring harness did you guys use? I’ve heard some aftermarket options might not connect properly.

I had a tough time with an aftermarket mirror from XYZ brand. It didn’t fit right and the wiring was a nightmare! Stick with OEM if you can.

That’s good advice! I’ve also seen issues with some cheap aftermarket options. Fitment is key!

What about the mirrors from ABC Company? I’ve seen mixed reviews, but I’m tempted to try them. Anyone had experience?

I installed ABC mirrors and they’ve been fine so far. A little tricky to wire up, but they extend nicely for towing.

I agree with laurenmeadows about OEM. They may be pricier, but in the long run, they save you headaches!

Can anyone confirm if the towing capacity changes with different mirrors? I want to ensure I’m not compromising safety.

Generally, mirrors themselves don’t affect towing capacity, but visibility is crucial for safe towing! Choose wisely.

I wonder if my old mirrors would look good on Monopoly money? Ha! More seriously, I think it depends on personal taste.

Wryan, that gave me a chuckle! But really, I appreciate the input from everyone here. I’m leaning towards OEM for sure.

I’ve been contemplating this too! I want mirrors that provide a wide view but don’t stick out too much. Anyone have suggestions?

Definitely look into the custom towing mirrors. They’re adjustable, and many have additional LED lights, which are great for visibility!

Custom mirrors sound fun, but I worry about the installation process. I’m not the handiest person around!

Don’t stress! There are plenty of YouTube tutorials for installation. You might surprise yourself!

I highly recommend upgrading to tow mirrors for your F150. They significantly enhance visibility when towing large trailers, reducing blind spots!

Absolutely! The wider field of view is essential for safe lane changes, especially with bigger loads. Plus, many tow mirrors come with built-in LED lights that are super handy!
