Looking for Thule Roof Rack Recommendations for BMW X5

I have an X5 too! If you run into troubles, don’t hesitate to reach out or ask a friend who’s done it. There’s a great sense of accomplishment after it’s done!

I appreciate that support! Are there any specific tools I should definitely have, besides the basics?

Having a torque wrench and a ladder or step ladder can be very helpful; it makes working at height much easier! Trust me, it will save your back.

And don’t forget a bucket of ice for after the installation, because you might need it for those sore muscles! Just kidding, but seriously, stretch afterward!

Haha, that’s a good tip! I tend to forget to stretch. Thanks for the humorous reminder!

Hey everyone! I’m considering getting a Thule roof rack for my BMW X5. I need something durable but also safe for carrying gear. Any recommendations?

Thule has a variety of options for the X5. The Thule WingBar Evo is highly rated for stability and load capacity. It has a sleek design too!

I’ve heard good things about that! Just make sure to check the load limit for your X5. It’ll ensure your safety on the road.

I’ve had great experiences with my Thule AeroBlade. Super quiet on the highway and fits great on the X5. I’ve carried kayaks and bikes with it, and it feels stable.

That’s awesome! What’s the load capacity like on it? I have some heavier cargo I’m considering.

The AeroBlade can carry up to 220 lbs. Just make sure you balance the weight evenly for stability when driving!

Does anyone know if the Thule rack affects fuel efficiency on the X5? I’m trying to be mindful of that.

It can a little, but it’s usually negligible unless you’re hauling a lot of weight. Just drive sensibly!

I’ve been using a Thule SquareBar for a while—it’s a bit heavier than the others, but it definitely carries a lot of weight safely. Anyone else in the ‘SquareBar’ club?

Haha, not me! But I’ve seen them work well too. Just make sure to double-check the compatibility with your model!
