I’m considering an LS swap for my 944 as well! The LS3 is a strong option, offering great performance with about 430 hp. Fitment can be tight, but with the right mounts, it should work well.
Don’t forget about the LS7! It’s a beast at around 505 hp! However, the fitment will definitely require more modifications. You’ll need custom headers and potentially an upgraded radiator.
I think the torque characteristics of the LS engines might be what makes them ideal for the Porsche. The LS2 could be a sweet spot for power without going overboard on the mods required.
