Looking for Recommendations on Mud Flaps for My 2013 F150

Seeking Mud Flap Recommendations

Hey everyone,

I’m in the market for some new mud flaps for my 2013 Ford F-150. I often take my truck off-roading and deal with different weather conditions, so I need something that can really protect my truck from mud, dirt, and debris.

What I’m Looking For:

  • Durability: I need something that can withstand rough terrains.
  • Easy Installation: Ideally, I don’t want to spend a whole weekend installing them.
  • Compatibility: I have a few accessories already - will these mud flaps work with them?

Questions for You All:

  1. Brand Recommendations: What brands have you used and can recommend?
  2. User Reviews: Must-have features or common issues you’ve faced?
  3. Pricing: Any tips on where to find decent prices?

I’d appreciate any feedback, links to products you’ve liked, or experiences you’ve had with your mud flaps. Thanks in advance for your help!

Important Considerations:

  • I often off-road, so the mud flaps need to handle that kind of exposure.
  • Also, any info on easy installation options would be great.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! Let’s keep our trucks looking good and protected!

I’ve had great success with rubber mud flaps for my F150. They flex well and handle mud and road debris like a champ. Plus, they don’t crack easily in cold weather.

That sounds solid, but I’ve heard that plastic mud flaps can be just as durable. Anyone tried both?

I used to go with the plastic ones, but they became brittle in our winters. Rubber was a better investment for longevity! Just not as pretty.

Interesting point, wendy56. I bet those plastic ones are a pain in the snow. Have you ever had any issues with rubber ones in heavy rain?

True! I live in a rainy area, and rubber still holds up well. Plus, they catch all the water and dirt so my truck stays cleaner longer.

That’s a good advantage! But if they tear, is that a real concern?

I’ve had a tear or two over the years. But as long as I maintain them, it’s not too bad. Just keep an eye out for wear.

Absolutely! Maintenance is key! Just like applying moisturizer, but way less messy! :joy:

Speaking of maintenance, how often do you check them? I tend to forget until I hear that horrible noise while driving. Anyone else?

Oh, totally! I once lost a flap and didn’t notice until I got home! A fun surprise for my driveway. How many can a guy actually go through?

It’s a good reminder! I think it’s more about knowing when they need replacing. I’m curious, any thoughts on custom options?

Custom options sound great! but I wonder if they impact performance versus the standard ones. What do you think, guys? Worth the price?

I recently installed WeatherTech mud flaps on my 2013 F150. The installation was straightforward, taking about an hour. Just make sure you have a good drill and follow the instructions closely!

Anyone tried Husky liners? I’ve heard they’re also easy to install but looking for actual user feedback.

Husky liners were a breeze to install on mine. I finished both sides in under 30 minutes with just a socket wrench! Highly recommend them!

That’s great to hear! Any tips for lining them up correctly? I worry about messing that up.

Make sure to clean the area where you’ll install the mud flaps first. It helps with alignment. Also, start with the top bolts for better adjustment!

Help! I’m wondering if there are any mud flaps that don’t require drilling. I’m not very handy with tools!

If you’re not into drilling, consider the McGard flap kits! They use clips instead and I found them easy to install. No tools required!
