Looking for Recommendations on Corvette C7 Wide Body Kits!

Totally agree! I think a bold color really makes a wide body kit pop on the C7. Anyone have specific paint recommendations?

If you’re exploring colors, I suggest metallic finishes—like deep blue or fiery red. They really stand out with a good body kit!

Those colors do look amazing! Have you guys seen any C7s with matte finishes? They have a unique vibe too.

I love the sleek matte black look! It gives the C7 a stealthy and modern edge. However, keeping it clean is a whole different challenge!

Haha, no kidding! But the payoff is so worth it. Anyone have opinions on installation difficulty for these body kits?

Installation can vary greatly. Some manufacturers offer kits that are easier to install yourself, while others require professional help. Be sure to check the reviews!

I read that some kits may not align perfectly on the first try. It’s crucial to go with a reputable brand to avoid any paint mismatches and fit issues.

Exactly! Which brands are considered the ‘must haves’ in the C7 community?

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Z06 and RPI Designs. Their kits not only look great but are built to last. Definitely check them out!

I mean, all these kits sound good, but do you think there’s such a thing as too much customization on a Corvette? Sometimes less is more!

That’s true, gary47! It’s all about personal taste. Some might love an extreme look, while others prefer a subtle upgrade. What’s your take on this?

I lean towards a balanced approach—definitely want a standout look, but I agree that too much can be overwhelming.

I recently installed my C7 wide body kit myself. It took about three weekends, but I loved every moment! Just be sure to gather the right tools like a torque wrench and heat gun. The fitment was tricky at first, though.

Awesome to hear you tackled that, Morgan! I think DIY is a great learning experience, but can be frustrating if things don’t fit right. Did you run into any specific challenges during installation?

I recommend going professional if you’re not super confident with your tools. I had mine done by a shop, and it was worth the extra cost for peace of mind. They did an incredible job, though it did take them a solid week to finish.

That’s smart practical advice, YJimenez! What tools did they use for the installation? I’m curious about the process.

For a DIY project, I found a solid YouTube tutorial to follow along. Also, make sure to have a buddy help you; it really requires an extra set of hands during fitment stages! You’ll need patience and time!

Such a good point, Hamilton! A buddy can really save you in tight spots. Was it challenging aligning the fenders correctly?

I found the alignment tricky as well! Take your time with the measurements; I also used some clamps to hold everything in place while fastening. Don’t rush!

Patience is key! It’s hard not to rush, especially when you’re excited. Did anyone here face a particular mishap during their installation?
