I’ve owned a 2004 Impala SS Indy Edition for a few years now. Regular oil changes every 3,000 miles are crucial for keeping it in top shape. Don’t skip them!

That’s great advice! I also recommend checking the transmission fluid regularly. It can help avoid costly repairs down the line.

I’ve had a few common issues with mine, like the fuel pump going out. Just be aware that it’s a common problem. Always good to keep an eye on it!

Thanks for the heads-up! Were there any signs you noticed before it failed?

Definitely! I had trouble starting mine a few days before it finally quit. I wouldn’t ignore strange sounds or issues with acceleration.

For modifications, I suggest upgrading the exhaust. It not only adds a nice sound but also can improve performance. Plus, it looks good!

I’m thinking of adding an aftermarket intake. Has anyone tried that? I heard it can really boost performance.

I’ve installed one, and it made a noticeable difference! Pair it with a good tune, and you’ll unleash more power.

Make sure to do a full inspection every 15,000 miles. It helps catch minor issues before they become major headaches!

I’ve been maintaining mine diligently. A lot of people don’t realize how important it is to keep those brake pads in check too!

Absolutely! Especially with this power, it’s easy to wear them out. Better to replace them early.

And don’t forget to wash it regularly! A clean car is a happy car, and the paint job on these is worth maintaining.

Washing is important! But let’s be honest, who actually likes washing their cars? It’s like a necessary evil.

Hey! I’ve got a 2004 Impala SS Indy Edition too. For performance upgrades, I highly recommend upgrading the exhaust system. A good cat-back exhaust can really improve the sound and performance.

Totally agree! I added a Borla cat-back exhaust last summer and noticed a significant increase in power and a much sportier sound. Worth every penny!

What about suspension mods? I’m considering coilovers to improve handling. Any suggestions?

Coilovers are a great choice! I installed some adjustable coilovers on mine too. The difference in cornering stability was mind-blowing. Just make sure to also get a proper alignment afterward!

I’ve heard a lot about engine tuning as well. Does anyone have specific tuners they recommend for the Indy Edition?

For tuning, I suggest going with a reputable local shop that specializes in GM vehicles. They can often fine-tune for your specific setup. I used one and gained a solid 30hp!
