Looking for Insights on OBS Ford Brush Guards

I’ve used my brush guard through various weather setups, and it appears to fare well. Rain doesn’t seem to damage it, but I’ve noticed some rust forming at the welds after heavy winters. Regular maintenance helps.

Interesting! I wonder if there’s a specific finish that could help with that rust issue. What do you guys think?

Overall, I think the powder coating finish on my OBS brush guard has done a good job resisting rust. I live in a humid area, and so far, so good—no major issues yet!

I’ve tackled plenty of off-road adventures with mine, and the protection is solid! I’ve hit trees and rocks, and the guard has taken the hits without bending or cracking.

That’s awesome, ryan32! It sounds like a game changer for off-roading. Did you consider other brands, or did you go straight for the OBS?

I initially looked at a few other options but found the OBS to have the best reviews for durability and design. Plus, the fit is perfect for my model!

Do you all think these guards can hold up against high-speed off-roading? I’d love to go faster, but I’m worried about flexibility in the material.

Having taken mine on some high-speed trails, I can say that it holds up surprisingly well! The design is meant for impacts, not just aesthetic.

That’s a relief to hear! I was considering some modifications but might hold off now.

Just keep in mind that the weight of the guard can slightly affect performance. I recommend checking your vehicle’s load capabilities if you’re planning to customize further.

Thanks for the tip! I’m not trying to turn my truck into a tank, just want some good looks and protection .

Haha, I’m with you there! I just want some extra protection without sacrificing style! What color do you think looks best?

I love a matte black finish. It looks sleek and hides dirt well! Plus, it gives off that tough vibe.

My brush guard is chrome, and while it’s shiny, I’ve found it requires constant polishing. Definitely not for the low-maintenance owner!

Absolutely! Brush guards not only enhance the aesthetic but also provide protection. I’m considering different finishes like matte and polished to match my paint.

I recently installed an OBS Ford brush guard and it completely changed the look of my truck! It gives it a tougher, more rugged aesthetic. Has anyone else noticed this?

I’ve seen some incredible customization options for brush guards, like LED light mounts and custom paints. Anyone have before-and-after photos to share?

I was just thinking this! I’d love to see how others have styled their trucks with brush guards.

I’ve been thinking about adding a brush guard as well! I really like how they can give an aggressive look, but I’m curious if there’s a weight trade-off?

It’s definitely a factor! Heavier guards might affect performance slightly. Just make sure to check your specs before installation.
