Looking for Best Running Boards for My 2021 Silverado!

Seeking Recommendations for Running Boards

I recently got my hands on a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado and I’m looking to enhance its functionality and aesthetics with some running boards. I’ve been doing some research but I’m a bit overwhelmed with the options available. I would really appreciate your advice and recommendations!

Here are a few questions I have:

  • What brands do you recommend? I’ve seen a few names pop up frequently, but I’m not sure which ones are the best for quality and durability.
  • Are there specific styles or types that fit the 2021 Silverado better? Some running boards seem a bit bulky while others appear more streamlined.
  • Installation: How easy are these to install? I’d prefer something I can do myself if possible. Any tips on the installation process would be great!
  • Pricing: I’ve noticed prices vary greatly. What’s a reasonable price range for good quality running boards?

Additionally, if anyone has links to reviews or personal experiences, please share! I’m hoping to make a decision soon as I’d love to get these set up before the summer road trips start.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I’m also searching for the best running boards for my 2021 Silverado! I’ve read that aluminum ones are lightweight and rust-resistant, but I love the look of stainless steel too. Any suggestions?

Totally agree! Aluminum boards are great for durability. I got the AMP Research PowerSteps, and they look awesome and function perfectly!

I’m curious if anyone has opinions on the foldable running boards like the ones made by N-Fab. Do they work well, or are they more of a gimmick?

I’ve had good experiences with mine! The foldable feature is great for keeping the lines of my Silverado clean while still providing good functionality.

I think it also depends on your style preferences. Do you want rugged or sleek? The Raptor Series offer a nice aggressive look while still being functional.

Rugged is the way to go! I’ve heard good feedback about the Tyger Auto drop steps. They’re not just practical but look great too! Anyone tried them?

Yes! I installed them last month. Super easy to set up and they provide a solid step, even in the rain.

Just a thought, if you’re running into issues with installation, many brands have easy kits. It shouldn’t turn into a three-day project! :joy:

Does it really take three days? I was worried about installation. Maybe I should stick to brands with good customer reviews for that!

Definitely! Always check reviews. I regret not doing that for my last truck’s mods. Lesson learned!

I guess it boils down to personal preference. Whether it’s style, height, or material, there’s a lot to consider. Take your time making the choice!

I’ve installed running boards on my 2021 Silverado, and it’s pretty straightforward! You’ll need a socket set, drill, and maybe a torque wrench. Take your time with alignment—it’s key to getting them level.

Those are great tools! Don’t forget to have some extra hands around; sometimes it’s tricky to hold everything in place while you screw them in.

Also, I’ve noticed that some brands have complicated instructions. It’s worth checking user reviews for anyone mentioning installation issues—might save you some headache!

Exactly! I once got a set that had confusing steps, and I ended up doing it twice. Just ensure you have a clear guide before getting started.

For those asking about tools, here’s my list: socket wrench, ratchet, and a level. Also, have some WD-40 handy in case those bolts are stubborn!

Such a lifesaver! It works wonders on rusty bolts. I had a couple that wouldn’t budge; what a nightmare until I remembered it!

If anyone drops their nuts and bolts while installing, don’t panic! Just grab a magnet—you’ll thank yourself later for preventing a scavenger hunt in your driveway!

That’s hilarious! I almost lost a whole set when I dropped them. A magnet makes it so much easier. Always good to have a backup plan!
