Looking for Advice on Chevy 22 Inch Factory Rims

I’m on the hunt for some Chevy 22 inch factory rims and I could use some guidance. It seems like there are a ton of options out there, but I’m not sure where to start. Here are some points I’m hoping to get advice on:

1. Where to Buy

  • I’ve checked a few places like Amazon and eBay, but I want to know if there are any reputable sellers I should be looking at. Are there specific platforms or shops that fellow Chevy enthusiasts recommend?

2. OEM vs. Replica

  • Should I stick with OEM parts or is it worth considering replicas? I’ve heard mixed reviews about both. What are your experiences?

3. Specifications and Compatibility

  • I have a [specify your Chevy model], and I want to ensure that whatever rims I choose will fit properly. Any specifications I should specifically look for to avoid compatibility issues?

4. Customization Options

  • I like the idea of customizing my rims. Are there any good options you would suggest for adding a personal touch while keeping it classy?

5. Maintenance Tips

  • Once I get my hands on the rims, what maintenance should I be doing to keep them looking good and in tip-top shape?

I really appreciate any input or experiences you can share. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I’m looking to put 22-inch factory rims on my 2017 Chevy Tahoe. Are there any specific models that will fit without too much hassle?

Hi Tracy! Most Chevy trucks and SUVs from 2014 onward, like the Silverado and Tahoe, can fit 22-inch rims. Just check your offset and backspacing to avoid rubbing.

Does anyone know if I need to do any modifications to my 2015 Silverado besides just swapping the rims? I’m worried about the height.

You might need a slight lift kit if you’re going with 22s on the Silverado to prevent rubbing when turning. It looks awesome, though!

Absolutely agree with Victoria! I put 22s on my 2016 Tahoe, and I had to do a small lift. It made all the difference in maintaining a good ride.

What about tire options? Any recommendations that provide a smooth ride but are still durable?

I recommend checking out Michelin or Goodyear tires. Great grip and comfort, plus they’ll handle the extra height from the lift. Just keep an eye on your tread life!

Quick question for everyone: how do the 22s affect mpg? I’m a bit concerned about fuel efficiency.

Honestly, you’ll likely see a drop in MPG with larger rims. But it varies based on driving habits. Just be ready for some changes!

I went from 20s to 22s, and the drop in fuel efficiency wasn’t as bad as I thought. Just drive normally and you’ll get used to it. A bit of an adjustment though!

Have a good set of 22s installed! Just make sure they fit in your garage after that. Size matters, after all! :joy:

Ha! So true! Do check the clearance, but remember the upgrades make your ride much better. Enjoy those rims!

I’m curious about how 22-inch factory rims handle on Chevy vehicles. I hear they can change the ride comfort significantly. Anyone experienced this?

I’ve had my 22-inch rims for a year, and the ride is noticeably stiffer but offers great steering response. Just be ready for a little less comfort on bumpy roads!

I haven’t tracked it, but I feel like my truck consumes a bit more gas since I made the switch. It might be worth checking the specifics!

Totally! But can we agree that 22s look awesome? My Chevy has never turned heads like it does now.

I’ve noticed that larger rims can slightly lower fuel efficiency. Has anyone tracked actual MPG with their 22-inch rims? I’m interested!

For sure! They look great, but the handling can become more skittish around corners. Just keep that in mind.

Yes, I switched to lower profiles for my rims and it’s been a compromise. Trading some comfort for better grip, but it can be a bumpy ride.
