Having Issues with My 2015 Chevrolet Malibu Radio – Help Needed!

I used the Metra 70-2104 harness for my Malibu, and it worked perfectly!

I just went with a simple Bluetooth receiver. It’s not fancy, but it does the job! And installation is a breeze.

That sounds like a typical DIY option! Can you still control it with the steering wheel?

Unfortunately, no. You’ll lose steering wheel controls unless you get an adapter. But it’s a fair trade-off for wireless music!

You mentioned using an adapter—are they easy to find? I don’t want to spend too much time hunting for one.

Adapters are usually available at auto parts stores or online. Just look for a ‘steering wheel control adapter’ for the Malibu.

I did a cheeky little upgrade while replacing mine; I added LED lights around the radio for fun! A little extra flair never hurts.

Haha, that sounds like a blast! I love the idea of mixing technology with a little aesthetic upgrade.

For me, functional upgrades are priority, but that does sound fun!

Remember, you don’t have to break the bank! There are good budget options for aftermarket radios that still have great features and sound.

First, try resetting your radio by holding down the power and seek buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds. This usually helps with minor glitches.

That worked for my 2014 Malibu! It’s a simple fix for sure!

If that doesn’t work, you can also restore factory settings by navigating to the ‘Settings’ menu on the radio and selecting ‘Factory Reset’. Just a heads up, this will erase all your presets.

Just did that and it worked! Thanks for the tip, Logan!

Another option is to disconnect the car battery for a few minutes – this can sometimes resolve more stubborn glitches in the infotainment system.

Isn’t that a bit extreme? My radio just needed the button reset!

I prefer the button reset too! But if you’re having ongoing issues, it might be a good idea to check for software updates at your dealership.

Software updates can be a game changer. Sometimes the glitches are just software bugs that a simple update could fix.

I once had an issue that sounded similar. After the battery disconnect, I updated the software and it was like a brand new radio!

Can anyone tell me how to access the radio’s software update? Is there a specific process I should follow?
