I’m considering upgrading my BMW F30 with H&R Super Sport Springs, and I’m looking for some input from those who have already made the jump. Here are some specific points I’m curious about:
Performance
How much of a difference did you notice in handling?
Did you feel any improvements in cornering ability?
Ride Quality
How does the ride feel compared to stock springs?
Are the springs too stiff for daily driving?
Installation
Did you do the install yourself, or did you take it to a shop?
Any tips for a DIY installation, tools needed, or anything to watch out for?
Compatibility
I’ve heard mixed things about compatibility with OEM shocks. Is it necessary to upgrade the shocks with these springs?
I’d appreciate any insights, personal experiences, or recommendations. Thanks in advance for your help!
I’ve had the H&R Super Sport Springs on my F30 for a few months now, and the improvement in handling is incredible. The car feels much more planted in the corners!
Good question! I find the ride quality isn’t too bad for everyday use, though it does stiffen things up a bit. You can feel the road, but it’s not unbearable.
I’ve installed H&R Super Sport Springs on my F30 and it transformed the handling! You will need a good set of spring compressors, a jack, and stands. Don’t rush the process; it helps to have a buddy for lifting the struts out!
Definitely take your time with the strut removal. Mark everything so you can remember where it all goes. A torque wrench is also essential for reassembling everything correctly.
Great question, matthew23! I had to adjust camber slightly. It’s worth investing in a camber kit to avoid tire wear later on. What are people’s thoughts on DIY vs. professional installation for springs?
