Well, the steering warning light lit up on my dashboard. I had it scanned, and the codes pointed to the sensor. Don’t ignore those lights!

Installation isn’t too difficult, but I’d recommend a mechanic if you’re not experienced. You don’t want to mess with steering components.

Yes, I took it in last week. They found a fault code related to the electric power steering. It looks like it might need a software update. Has anyone heard of similar fixes?

My experience was somewhat different. I noticed grinding noises along with reduced steering assist, which made it really nerve-wracking during tight turns. It turned out to be an issue with the power steering pump. Anyone else had a pump failure?
I haven’t, but I did have some weird whining noises. After a fluid change, it cleared up! I wonder if low fluid levels could be a factor for others?
