Anyone tried Advanti Racing S1 Storm wheels on a Mazda Miata?

Seeking Insights on Advanti Racing S1 Storm Wheels

Hey everyone, I’m considering upgrading my Mazda Miata’s wheels and I’ve come across the Advanti Racing S1 Storm. I’ve seen some positive reviews but I want to dive deeper into their specifics. Here’s what I’m curious about:

Specifications and Compatibility

  • Weight: I’ve read that lighter wheels can significantly impact performance—what has been your experience with the weight of these wheels?
  • Strength: Are these wheels durable enough for spirited driving? Any experiences with potholes or track days?
  • Fitment: For those who have installed them on a Miata, how was the fit?

Comparison with OEM Wheels

  • How do they compare in performance to the stock wheels? I am particularly interested in handling and ride quality.
  • Is there a noticeable difference in aesthetics? The S1 Storms look pretty sleek, but how do they actually change the look of the vehicle?

General Recommendations

I am also open to any other suggestions for wheels that could be a great fit for my Miata. What other brands or models should I consider?

Let’s hear your thoughts, experiences, and any advice! Looking forward to your feedback!

I’ve been running the Advanti Racing S1 Storm wheels on my Miata for about six months. They really enhance handling—sharp turns feel so much better now. Highly recommend for spirited driving!

That’s great to hear! I’m curious about ride quality though—do you find them harsh over bumps?

I have to agree with michaelshepard! The wheels do improve the overall dynamics. I’ve driven in both wet and dry conditions, and they perform admirably in both scenarios.

What about ride comfort? Does it feel more sporty or is it a harsh ride?

Ride comfort is a bit firmer than stock wheels, but it’s not unbearable. It actually adds to the sporty feel which I love while driving around corners.

I’ve got a set on my Miata too. The performance gain is undeniable, but I do find myself bouncing on pothole-ridden roads. It’s a trade-off for better handling, I suppose.

Exactly! You sacrifice some comfort for performance. But the cornering capabilities are fantastic, even in the rain!

Anyone notice any major weight difference? I’m thinking about how much that impacts acceleration and braking performance.

They are lighter than stock wheels. I felt a noticeable difference in acceleration—definitely enhances driving fun in my opinion.

That sounds promising! Has anyone tested them in autocross or track conditions?

I did a track day with them! The grip was fantastic. They held up well and gave me confidence in high-speed turns. Highly recommended for track enthusiasts!

I wish I could afford a set! Just doing my research here. I really hope to improve my Miata’s performance soon.

Totally worth it! Save up; you won’t regret it. But keep in mind the ride might be less comfy on long trips.

It’s always about balance! I love the wheels but I do wish they were a touch more forgiving on long drives. Still, the performance boost is so much fun!

That’s awesome, justin30! What color did you go with? I’ve heard they have some really eye-catching options.

I chose the gunmetal finish, and it pairs so well with the blue paint on my Miata. The quality of the finish is impressive too, very durable against road conditions.

Sounds great! Do you think the color has affected the car’s overall aesthetic? I’m considering getting them too.

Definitely! The wheels draw attention without being too flashy. They really complement the Miata’s lines. Plus, they look great when the sun hits them just right!
