Anyone know about jump seats in cars? Need some advice!

What about the Kia Carnival? It’s relatively new, but I’ve heard it has excellent utility with its jump seats!

I looked into the Kia Carnival; it’s impressive! The way the jump seats can slide around is super practical. Has anyone used them extensively?

I’ve taken mine on several family trips, and the jump seats were great for the kids! Easy to access too, very practical.

I guess the choice really depends on space needs! For a bigger family, something like the Odyssey might be better, while couple with kids could fit into the Sienna more comfortably.

Wouldn’t it be wild if someone created a car with a full-size jump seat in the front? :joy: Just imagine the look on a police officer’s face!

Haha! That would definitely bring a new meaning to carpooling!

After reading all this, I think I’ll definitely check out the Odyssey and Carnival. Thanks for the insights everyone!

I’ve heard that jump seats can be installed in vans and SUVs more easily. Make sure to check local laws about seat modifications; they can vary significantly!

What about trucks? Can you fit jump seats in the back of a pickup, or is that more complicated?

It’s definitely more complicated in trucks due to the frame design. You may need custom work, and safety is a big consideration. Talk to a pro!

Does anyone have tips for finding a reputable mechanic for this kind of work?

Look for shops specializing in custom modifications or modifications for families. They often have the experience you need!

Are there any common safety regulations we should be aware of before starting this project?

Definitely! You need to ensure the jump seat meets safety ratings and is securely installed. Always check your local laws for specifics.

I’ve heard anecdotal stories about people getting ticketed for non-compliant seats. Anyone know if that’s legit?

It is legit. Officers can be picky about seat installations. Better safe than sorry—make sure everything is legal!

What about the total cost for these modifications? Is it pricey?

It can be! Expect anywhere from a few hundred to a couple of thousand dollars based on your vehicle type and complexity of the work. Always get estimates first!

Yikes! I was hoping for a lower price. Wish there was a DIY option that was safe.

I think it’s risky to DIY unless you’re very experienced with automotive work. Safety’s no joke with jump seats!
