235 75R15 vs 255 70R15: What’s the Difference?

Maybe it comes down to your specific needs. If you’re mostly on the highway and need more stability, the benefits might outweigh the cost of extra fuel consumption!

I’m in a similar boat! I drive a Jeep Cherokee and I’m torn between the 235 75R15 and the 255 70R15. Any recommendations on which would fit better?

I have a Ford Explorer, and I’ve heard that the 255s tend to give a smoother ride due to a wider contact patch. Has anyone tried this with a similar vehicle?

I drive a Toyota Tacoma and switched from 235 75R15 to 255 70R15 without issues. The performance improved, but you might want to check for wheel well clearance!

That’s great to know! Do you remember if you noticed any changes in fuel efficiency?

I think it depends on your driving style. If you do lots of off-roading, the 255s might be better for traction. Roads can be trickier with the 235s.

True, but I’ve also heard that wider tires can affect handling. Is that correct? Has anyone felt a difference?

I had 255 70R15 on my Chevy S10, but I had to lift it a bit for clearance. Totally worth it for the performance boost, though!

Awesome! So a lift kit might be a good idea. Did you go for a complete suspension lift or just spacers?

I just went with spacers. A complete lift can get expensive. But hey, if you’re looking to make your truck stand out, it’s an option!

All this tire talk is making my head spin! Can they even make a 235 75R15 cool? Maybe I should just go with the 255s for the sake of style!
