2013 Harley Davidson Fatboy - Looking for Reviews and Feedback

Seeking Your Thoughts on the 2013 Harley Davidson Fatboy

Hey fellow riders! I’m diving into the details of the 2013 Harley Davidson Fatboy and would love to hear your feedback or reviews if you’ve had experience with this model.

What I’m Curious About:

  • Overall Performance: How does it handle on both city roads and highways? Is the power delivery smooth?
  • Comfort: I’m particularly interested in how comfortable it is for long rides. Any tips on seat modifications or ergonomic adjustments you found helpful?
  • Maintenance: What kind of maintenance issues did you experience? Are there common problems to look out for?
  • Parts Availability: How easy is it to find spare parts? Any recommendations for aftermarket upgrades?
  • Value for Money: Would you say it’s worth the investment? How does it hold up in terms of resale value?

Things I’ve Noticed:

  • The Fatboy has that iconic solid rear wheel look, but I’ve also heard mixed reviews about its handling compared to other models.
  • I’ve seen a couple of reviews mentioning the exhaust note—does it really live up to the Harley sound we love?
  • I am particularly interested in any modifications that enhance performance without compromising the bike’s aesthetics.

I have to mention the brakes. They’re solid for a cruiser. Stopping power is enough for highway speeds without feeling mushy.

Right, Paul! I did a test ride on a similar model, and the Fat Boy’s brakes felt much sharper.

Overall, the ride experience is smooth. It’s comfortable on long rides, and the seating position is great for cruising.

Absolutely! I usually take mine on weekend trips, and it handles beautifully at 70 mph.

Does anyone find the weight of the Fat Boy a bit cumbersome at low speeds? I’m still getting used to it!

It can feel heavy at times, but I found it better as I got used to it. Keep practicing, you’ll be fine!

I heard some people say it lacks a bit of power compared to sportier models. Thoughts? It’s a cruiser after all!

That’s true, but for cruising, it’s perfect. Not every ride needs to be a race!

I still can’t decide if I love the look or if it’s just that I like riding it! The design is iconic but would love to know if it’s a practical choice.

It is iconic! And about practicality, I recommend it for casual rides but not for every-day commuting.

I’ve had my 2013 Fat Boy for about 5 years now. Routine maintenance is straightforward, just regular oil changes and inspections. Haven’t faced any major issues!

That’s great to hear! Did you have any specific maintenance routines you follow more diligently?

I’ve had a few hiccups, like the battery draining quicker than expected. It’s good to keep an eye out for electricals, especially in older models!

Yeah, I can see how that would be frustrating. Any tips on what kind of battery works best?

I switched to a lithium battery, and it’s worked out great! Lighter and seems to hold a charge better than lead-acid.
