I’ve been having some serious trouble with the trailer lights on my 2013 Ford F-150. It seems like no matter what I do, they just won’t light up. I suspect it might be a fuse issue because everything was working fine until I hitched up my trailer the other day.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
Checked the trailer lights themselves: They seem to be in good condition.
Inspected the wiring: No visible damage that I can see.
Tested the truck’s tow package wiring without the trailer connected.
Despite all this, the lights remain dead. I’m pretty sure I’ve narrowed it down to the fuses, but I can’t find the fuse box layout that specifically indicates which fuse is for the trailer lights.
Questions:
Where exactly is the fuse for the trailer lights on a 2013 F-150? I’ve looked in the owner’s manual, but it doesn’t specify clearly.
Are there any common wiring problems I should check for? Any tips on where to look would be super helpful.
If it is the fuse, what’s the best way to replace it without screwing anything up?
I appreciate any advice you guys can share to help me get this figured out. I really need my trailer lights working for hauling.
I found a great diagram online! It really helped pinpoint the specific fuses for the trailer lights. Just search for ‘2013 F-150 fuse diagram’ and you should find it easily.
I had a similar issue with my 2013 F-150! Usually when trailer lights are out, it’s due to a blown fuse. Check your fuse box for any signs of damage or burnout.
